Well, we went 13-0 then competed (sort of) for the championship in 2011 and everyone wanted to fire the coach…so there’s that.

Yeah, rightfully so, too. That was the worst coached game I’ve ever had the misfortune of watching in my life. Les Miles’ nosedive started that night. You can sunshine pump if you want, but that game was an absolute atrocity!
Aaron Nola gave up a ton of HR in his Freshman season. Schmidt will be fine!

I seriously cannot stand Jones! He’s such a lazy fricking baseball player.
None whatsoever! His plate appearances have been embarrassing.
I’m normally like you, but this is fricking painful to watch. The lack of discipline at the plate is absolutely atrocious. I’d be shocked if LSU pulled this one out, they’re not the better team tonight.

I don’t normally say this in the 3rd inning, but I’d be shocked if LSU pulled this out. They look like complete dog shite!

Quit building teams with transfer and actually bring in guys that give AF! That’s the problem.
Look, I’m as big of a critic of Jones as anyone. Quite frankly, I don’t really like the kid that much. He has a terrible attitude, he’s lazy at times, and he is undisciplined at the plate at times.

But, the answer is 100% “No.” He’s your 1st basemen and has held that position down this year. The better questions is where should he hit in the lineup. With his power, you don’t drop him below 7. My opinion is 5 or 6, but Milam needs to be 2.
He’s about to get fricking hammered in the 7th.
Bench? No. Move him down the lineup to 6 or 7? Yes!

He’s lazy, selfish, and has an attitude problem. I hate watching him play!
He’s a selfish player, and it shows in his AB’s this weekend. Even my 9 year old said something about him.

Awful AB by Frey there.
There was once a time when I would mute the TV and listen to the LSU radio network, but that ended with Blair. He is awful, and after all these years, he still hasn’t gotten any better. He’s robotic, and his love for LSU feels scripted.
Agreed! For fricks sake, we have a fan base full of pussies! It’s March 23rd!! They’re not crowning a champion any time soon.

It’s called emotional maturity! Ya know that inner monologue that tells you to post that Jay Johnson is Coach O, making yourself look like an idiot?
Winning and having talent to do so are part of it! You think Skip won all those CWS titles without talent?

I actually didn’t know that 56 was the limit. I just thought everyone sat around 56-58, minus a game or 2 for weather cancelations or additional games added.

Baseball is not Football

With every loss in baseball, there’s a faction of people that completely overreact on The Rant. It’s March 23, not May 23…relax!!

College football is intense. Every Saturday feels like a playoff game, and with only 12 or 13 regular-season games, every mistake and loss are magnified.

College baseball on the other hand is a different animal. With 55-60 games in a season (56 for LSU in 2025), even top programs like LSU drop games. Losses are not uncommon, even for a national champion.
quote:

2024 - Tennessee (60-13)
2023 - LSU (54-17)
2022 - Ole Miss (42-23) - barely made postseason regionals
2021 - Mississippi State (50-18)
2020 - Canceled due to COVID
2019 - Vanderbilt (59-12)

You don’t tune into a weekend series expecting a sweep every time; you’re there for the series wins and the grind to Omaha. A loss to a rival in football can be a gut punch. In baseball, it’s just a Saturday in March, and there’s another game tomorrow.

That football ‘win-or-it’s-over’ mentality will stress you out as a baseball fan. College baseball is about riding the waves. Losses are normal, but the beauty of baseball is you have Sunday to respond and take the series.
