I'm bored and need something to do. Let's do a projected depth chart for the pigs this season. I'll start it out, and y'all add as you see fit.
Quarterbacks
Franks
Jefferson
Runningback
Boyd
Trelon Smith
Receivers
Knox-SE
Woods-FL
Burks-Slot
Tight End
Henry
Kern?
Toll?
Lots of uncertainty with this group
Offensive line
Cunningham-LT
Jones/Clary-LG-They are still searching for the #1
Stromberg-C
Limmer-RG
Gatlin-RT
Moving a lot of players in this group as well.
Defensive Line
Gerald-LE
Marshall-DT
Marcus Miller/Xavier Kelly?-DT
Soli-
Coates has been getting some attention, I expect a lot of movement on the defensive line as well.
Linebackers
The very word linebacker causes every Razorback fan to grimace and squirm the last several years. Keep in mind that Arkansas plans to play at least a good part in a base 4-2-5 defense. Here is my best guess:
Bumper Pool
Grant Morgan
Transfer from Oklahoma Levi Draper will play as well
Pittman mentioned Andrew Parker as well so he will play
Arkansas desperately needs some consistency at this position.
Cornerback
Montaric Brown
Jarquez McClellion
Ladarrius Bishop will play as well
Devin Bush
Malik Chavis
Free safety
Joe Foucha
Micahh Smith
Strong Safety
Catalon
Myles Mason
Slusher
Hog fans hoping Catalon stays healthy and lives up to the hype. The 4 star out of Texas was a huge get for Morris and Co.
Nickel corner
Greg Brooks
Jerry Jacobs-Jacobs has made a name for himself in Fall scrimmages, has a good nose for the ball and will contribute immediately.
Kicker
AJ Reed/Matthew Phillips
Punter
Loy
Bauer
Long Snapper
Jordan Silver
Punt Returner
Burks
Warren
A lot of emphasis has been spent on Burks catching the ball with punt returning. He put on a dazzling display with his hands last year. My bold prediction is he has a punt return touchdown this year.
Kick return
Burks
Warren
Apologies for the length of this post. I compiled the positions based on videos I am hearing from coaches and depth charts that are online. Please add comments to position as you see fit and change anything that doesnt seem right.

Burks doesn't need to play any special teams. Chad tried to kill him last year. We can't afford him getting hurt again.

I might have Jacobs starting opposite of Brown at CB. Don't think I could handle McClellion starting again. We've been rotating basically every DB in at nickel so who knows who ends up playing there behind Brooks. My guess would be Bush.
Honestly have no idea what LB will look like. I could see Deon Edwards and Hayden Henry playing too. It wouldn't even surprise me if Pool loses some PT as the year goes on since he's not really built to defend a spread attack but I'm not sure we have anyone else there who could replace him either.
Could see Oglesby and Hammonds getting a shot at KR or maybe even Trelon Smith behind the two you mentioned.

He has good speed but doesn't have the quickness to be a threat at kickoff or punt returner.
Dennis Johnson and Joe Adams didn't have elite speed but they can juke and shift would be tacklers until they find the end zone.
Felix Jones while slower than McFadden was quicker and a superior kickoff returner because he wasn't a North and South runner. He was harder to tackle in space as he knew how to run out of crowded spaces and into open territory. Burks struggled doing that last year as he is a very horizontal runner.
Hammonds would do good in punt returns because he is shifty. He is quick and is hard to get a hand on him.
Warren is one of the fastest on the team if not the fastest. Start at the 1:05 Mark.

Burks had a really good return against Kentucky. He has deceptive speed. I do think he fits better at PR than KR though, wouldn’t mind seeing someone else return kicks.
Saw where we played Marcus Henderson at TE today.

While I agree with your thinking I dont think the risk/reward is in our favor to put Burks at KR. He has the hands for PR but I dont see his speed or elusiveness to warrant risking an injury on KR, which is arguably the most dangerous play in football.

A&M too. Burks had more highlights at PR in one season when we barely ever forced a punt than Cornelius had in 4 seasons. I don't really want him at KR, but I want him at PR. He has legit agility and quickness. People just don't realize it because he's huge.

We have more problems at tight end and linebacker than we do on special teams. We are not particularly deep at multiple positions on offense and defense.
Lack of depth will make you ration a bit more on where players are needed. Burks if injuries do pile at linebacker, might need his services. But the problem with that is you are taking some offense off your team and decreases the chances of scoring opportunities.
When we start recruiting for better depth then you can start taking more risks.

I’m not saying burks need to return kicks or not. I’m saying from a purely philosophical perspective regardless of who we’re talking about I don’t believe in not playing the best player you’ve got because of something that MIGHT happen. Like baseball coaches who want to save their number one guy in a tournament if they know they have to double dip someone. You should do what gives you the best chance of winning at that moment. So in this case if the best way to have a successful punt or kick return is to have burks back there he should be back there. Obviously if someone is better than him then they should go back there. I really wasn’t arguing for or against burks returning kicks I was just commenting on the idea of potentially not putting your best player for a position at that position because of injury risks.

Meh, it would take several injuries before this is even an option conceiveably.

He played linebacker in high school and did very well. He can probably do better than what we have now.

He would probably be the best Non-DT player on Defense

I have no doubt he would do well but McFadden would have been a great safety too, still wasn't going to happen lol

He ran a 4.54 in the 40. He has pretty good speed. Jarius Wright was faster at 4.42 and had the best hands on the team.
Greg childs was at 4.39
Cobi Hamilton had a 4.56
His quickness and his vision are his strengths.
