Been reading where Brady Latham may be a real candidate to start at LG too. Pittman gushed about him last night.

You're totally right about 40 times, but Joe seemed to have elite 'on field' speed. Dude looked like he ran a 4.3 flat on that Auburn run...he didn't lose a step in pads.

It's the difference in acceleration and velocity. Joe could be at top speed mediately it seemed. Folks like cobi hamilton were faster over the long run, but took longer to hit the faster speed

It’s amazing how different the OL is going to look personnel wise from last year to this. Pittman said something the other day along the lines of their being much more talent on the OL than he was led to believe when he took the job. It seems it was just being improperly trained and coached.

Apparently Latham gets in the most fights at practice so he has a lot of mean in him

I think we’ll manage to win a couple this year. If it was a regular season I think 4-6 wins wouldn’t have been out of reach. We’ve got to see it on the field but I’m liking what I hear out of Pittman and his staff more than I did morris or Bielema tbh

I just want them to fight. Maybe it's just motivated reasoning but it's part of why I've come around to Pittman. Everywhere he's gone the players have loved him - the kind of love that translates into fight on the field imo.

Xs and Os can come later (although I think we're covered there with Briles and Odom). I can handle busted plays if the players aren't giving up and continue to battle.

I don't think a guy like Drinkwater would have won here. He may do well at Mizzou, but we needed someone different here. Hopefully Pittman is that guy.

Drinkwitz is just too young. We needed someone older.

Petrino in his prime wasn’t ‘old’.

He was just an arse that demanded results.

I doubt Saban gets many Christmas cards from ex players.

Saban has more personality than Petrino and that is why he is such a good recruiter.

Petrino was a nerd of the game but lacked the social skills needed to win over recruits.

Saban has the personality of a tree.

Honestly Petrino gave a better interview.

Saban became a good recruiter because of Alabama boosters. He remains a good recruiter because he can point to championship trophies, and because of Alabama boosters.

Alabama has and will always cheat, it is part of a culture that we don't understand. Win at all costs.

Saban knew this when he accepted the job. However he is still an above average recruiter. Alabama is not who they are without him now.

Petrino never got the backing like Saban because he doesn't know how to play both ways and that is both coach and politician.

BS

Petrino 'never got the backing' because the same reasons no other Arkansas coach has 'gotten the backing'.

Arkansas boosters haven't played the recruiting game to win in decades.

He didn't get the backing because he didn't kiss up. If he did then he would not have been fired. He never intended to apologize until after he was fired.

Nutt lasted 10 years because he knew where to kiss and he was very good at it.

Unless a coach has Petrino like results then they better start kissing or they will be gone before the next day is over.

The problem with our boosters and donors is that they don't care a bout winning here. They need someone to make them feel special instead.
