South Carolina-Tennessee has been one of the SECs best new rivalries

Since TNs descent into mediocrity in 2005, SC leads the series 8-7.
It began with classic Spurrier-Fulmer matchups, they were 2-2 against each other when Spurrier was at SC.
TN's major highlight was getting its first win ever against Will Muschamp last year.

I wouldn't consider 57 SEC football wins since 2005 mediocre, but anything less than 50 might be.

I know this is a troll thread but for about a decade - more or less from about 2000-2010 - the series did have the closest margin of victory for all annual SEC series.

Fun fact: the greatest team in South Carolina history was beat by one of the worst Tennessee teams in history. Such a waste 2013 was for the Cocks. Once in a lifetime chance at winning a real trophy.

I don’t remember the last time I watched a South Carolina Tennessee game

1) Yes, we know. UT's greatest win of the last 15 years came against South Carolina. What a mark for your illustrious program.
2) Wrong. We botched going to the SECCG 3 years in a row.

Sorta.
I'm actually enjoying being an equal to Tennessee these days.

I'm not. Being equal with them feels pretty low TBH.

That's how you brag about your program; "Since you started to suck like us, we're pretty even!"

Yall have a .289 all time winning percentage against them and are resorting to arbitrary time frames when your program was at its highest and theirs was at their lowest to sound like you haven't been bent over in 7.5 out of every 10 games you've faced each other in.
It's a cold world

I always love this argument. Are we also allowed to discount games when UT was really good and we were really bad? That would probably help the record too.

Your football program would only have 3 years of total history to reference in that scenario.
On a serious note, what happens when Champ gets blown out for the 2nd year in a row to ol phallic headed proot?

I mean if you really want to talk historical records I'd say Muschamp's 7-1 vs the Vols is a favorable indicator.

Muschamp is 1-1 vs Pruitt and is lucky not be 0-2 in that come from behind win in Pruitt's first season.
Let's talk about the last game the 2 coached against each other in though. I'd think that would be a better indicator of what to expect going forward, wouldn't you? Everyone with a pair of eyes can see that these 2 coaches and their respective rosters are heading in different directions except South Carolina fans.
Edit: Half of your 2021 recruiting class is rated an 85 or lower on The 247 composite rankings??

Vol fans have all watched Tennessee piss away enough top 10 and 15 classes over the last decade to know recruiting rankings aren't always an indicator of success.

Yeah... Vol fans talking about their program ‘heading in the right direction’ has been a near annual occurrence for a decade a half now
