Grimes, toney, and Copeland along with Zach carter.

They didn't show up to practice but Mullen said that he "supports them", so I'm assuming one way or another that they have opted out of a practice or it could extend through the season.
The rumors have been COVID and BLM related (although the second is very watery and has no substance so far, mostly just Twitter conjecture).
Hurts, but if they don't want to play I definitely don't want to make them. Not a good look if the NFL continues with powering through the season no matter what.

Nothing reported, who knows.

Three didnt go to practice. We shall see if it works out.
Does not make much sense though. Grimes especially. He came back this year to improve draft stock. Carter is starting and will cost himself a lot of money if he opts out(same with Grimes). Copeland can come back next year and be fine.
Either way. Hope it gets resolved. Our receiver situation will look like yours last year if they are not playing.

A source confirmed to Swamp247 that receivers Trevon Grimes, Kadarius Toney and Jacob Copeland and defensive end Zachary Carter all sat out of Monday's practice. It's unclear if they were the only players who opted out Monday.
Several Florida players had discussed opting out in recent days, including Toney, Copeland and Carter, posting various messages on social media. Their thought process seemed to involve a combination of concerns about COVID-19 and linking voices with the Pac-12 player movement that expressed a list of demands they wanted to see met before playing.
Carter, in particular, was a vocal advocate for some of the points raised by the Pac-12.

Florida’s offense was poised to explode this year. Real chance to make some money.
Life-long decisions. Hope it works out for them. I hope they aren’t being used.

Maybe should have gone with the ones that loves to get into roughness and that is what Florida is missing these days!

the only one of the 4 players that Florida needs to play is grimes who has the most to lose by not playing as far as draft status goes which he has said he is playing in 2020 so Grimes is not opting out.
Toney is only used basically in curtain situations or as wildcat it will hurt a little. Copeland hasn't produced much either and Carter as far as pass rushers go this season losing 1 is not going to hurt so these 3 guys can get the frick out of dodge and not look back.
We can use those schollys for players that want to be here and want to play

I mean, Trask, a lifelong benchwarmer 2* beat Fromm in:
Yards
Trask: 2,941
Fromm: 2,860
Completions
Trask: 237
Fromm: 234
Completion %
Trask: 66.9
Fromm: 60.8
TDs
Trask: 25
Fromm: 24
Trask only started 10 games, and played in a dual system with Emory Jones.

He also had 4 rushing touchdowns to zero.
It's nice that he has some experience now, I look forward to our game this season.

I also look forward to 2021 being the first year Mullen actually has three Quarterbacks to fit his system next year.
Subtle hedge.
FWIW, I hope florida gets their guys back. I like playing teams at full strength. It is college football and these are kids. Injuries, suspensions, and voluntary sidelining happen. I just wish they didnt. I love the game.

More like a jab at Mullen (lowkey). I mean, as the guy who is a Quarterback Guru you'd think he'd actually see that Trask was overwhelmingly better than Franks. To me, Franks never had it and that Trask didn't get a shot under McElwain nor Mullen until it was absolutely necessary is a pretty bad reflection on Mullen and made me lose a little faith in his ability to "play the best guy".
Maybe Trask isn't mobile, but he is an outstanding passer, and if you have someone who can pass that well you have to adjust. Thankfully, when it was absolutely necessary he did. I just don't like that it took an injury for Mullen to see the light.

I mean, no excuses. We're thin at WR and we have a great passer so it hurts a lot, but I won't use it as an excuse. It is 100% Mullen's job to have people ready and in his third year, he's had his chances to build the right depth chart.
I gave him a mulligan for having to coach around the QB position since he has no one that can actually run it outside of Emory Jones and the new, Freshman so I get that there's a lot of work he has put in -- but in this day and age you have to be able to fill those gaps.
Hopefully when our teams meet we're at full strength, and you're crying into your beer.

No you don’t like playing teams at full strength. If you did you would’ve never made it to the playoffs. Auburn at full strength in SEC Championship slaps the shite out of y’all like a couple of weeks earlier. Our top 5 players were out in the second game.

No one is at full strength in the SECCG. It is week 13.
And Kerryon had more rushing attempts than any UGA back in that game. And for a running back with a hurt (not injured) shoulder, he certainly had no room to run.
Keep clinging to your fairy tales. It obviously feels like a warm blanket to you.

I feel like anytime a Florida fan (who I hate) tries to say they will be good Georgia denies it and acts like they are badass. Sure Georgia has had their number, but it’s nice to see Florida getting strong again and giving Georgia a formidable east opponent. Georgia fans are probably also butthurt that they keep beating Florida but still have watched Florida win 3 titles before their last one.!

Those numbers are cool and all but Florida never

Oh to hell with that! I hope all 22 starters for Florida opt out and we drag them through the mud
