Best SEC bars and bar scene

An offseason thread for sure. I guess this can be a two-part question.
1.) What is your favorite bar at an SEC town? You can pick one from your school's town and another school.
2.) Aside from your school, which SEC school has the best "bar scene?" If UGA and Vanderbilt are the obvious selections, pick a runner-up.

Going at a good time. Two Brothers Smoked Meats built a brand new 2 story bar in the Cotton District. Elevated the bar scene exponentially.

Athens wins this hands down.
As for Columbia, SC, my favorite bar was Salty Nut Cafe when I was there.

Lived in Athens for a while and it's definitely the best in the SEC. I think starkville and Oxford are both good. Ive heard really good things about 5 points in Columbia. Fayetteville is fun but doesnt have quite as many bars as some of the bigger towns. College Station didnt impress me much tbh.

I don't believe so, but they have some of the best smoked wings and pork I've ever had. I tell everyone going to Starkville for a game has to eat at Two Brothers and Restaurant Tyler.

I don't consider Nashville a college town.
Surprised no one has mentioned Oxford or Auburn yet.
CoMo is pretty underrated. Solid bar scene.
Never partied in Lexington, Fayetteville, or College Station.

does the bar scene in Nashville have anything to do with Vandy? Oxford is great. I like Cola, SC because it has a bar scene for the young crowd (Five Points) and then a bar scene for older folks (The Vista). Athens wins though.

I'm not a huge fan of Nashville, TBH. Fun town but it is attracting hipsters, wanna be pop-country "artists", and other locusts.
If I want to be around shite like that, I'd visit Ashville and enjoy the better scenery.

The Fayetteville barscene is dope. So close to campus as well

Hard to pick a best bar but best bar scene is Athens IMO

no. A lot of the bars near Vandy's campus are actually bars for other schools to watch their game. Clemson, Alabama, Tennessee, etc all have official watch parties for alumni in the Demonbreun bar strip

My only time in Athens was in the late 80s. We went to the Flying Buffalo and had a blast. I understand it is no longer there, but what a great college bar.
