I live in northern VA where the lockdown has been pretty severe. And while it sucks not to be able to get a lot of work done, go to church, or see friends/ family, I’ve been able to read a lot more and spend a lot more time with my now 5 month old daughter

My department realized that people can actually do their job from home. I also got a new dog at the beginning of February, so that's been nice.

Work got hectic, none of us worked from home, and we didn’t miss a beat
we will all be nicely compensated in December with a Significant bonus and significant raise

It hasn't. I'd be worried sick if I couldn't confer with my patients. Sometimes I feel I need them as much as they need me.

I'm better at Call of Duty than I ever have been before. And I've gotten pretty good at baking several types of bread. That's about it.

Furlough ends June 30th :fingerscrossed:

I worked from home before this so the only thing that has changed is I go to the store less frequently and I wear a mask in public. I'm taking care of my mother, who has heart and respiratory problems, so the virus is scary as hell. Other than the worry about bringing it home with me after a trip to the store my life is about the same as it has been for the last few years.

Honestly financially I’m ahead given the break in student loan interest for 6 months. Was our of work for 2 months but the unemployment wasn’t awful. Hope the interest waiver goes longer.

Picked up a guitar and can play easy songs now. Excited to take an actual lesson soon.

Got way better at cooking. Also bought a bike and have been getting into that

1700 extra in the bank. 1200 stimulus and 500 bonus from work.

Also got hired on from temp status because one of the guys called in to work saying they thought they had Covid and showed up the next day not even having gone to the doctor.

Well my pot and alcohol tolerances are now so high that I’m pretty sure I could take a horse tranquilizer to the neck and be fine

Lots of extra time with wife and daughter. Got to see me daughter crawl for the first time, take her first steps, and say her first words. All would have happened at daycare otherwise. Plus she has really warmed up to me since I've been home all day, used to be kind of scared of me since she only saw me for an hour or so in the evenings between daycare and bedtime. Now she smiles and laughs every time I walk into a room. That's a hell of a silver lining to me.

They eliminated two management positions where I worked (as a poker room supervisor). Even though my position was safe because of seniority, I volunteered to be one of the ones to be laid off. In return, my company agreed to pay my insurance through July, one of my buddies that would have been laid off since he had the least amount of seniority was able to keep his job and it has given me time to start my own Medicare insurance company while collecting unemployment until my commissions start coming in.

Plus, because of the coronavirus, CMS changed the rules that no longer require agents to meet their clients face-to-face. Applications can now be done on the internet or phone. That change alone has opened up my area from just within driving distance to the entire state. It has also changed the amount of time to sign a client up for a plan from approximately 2-3 WEEKS to 1-2 HOURS. And I never have to leave the house (unless a local client prefers a face-to-face appointment). Plus, it is really cool getting paid very well to help people. Win, win all the way around. I'm expecting my yearly income to double at a minimum. My income should grow each year because it pays residuals every year a client re-enrolls. For example, 400 clients re-enrolling pays over $100k just in residuals.

I’m running up to 5 miles a day and feel physically better than I have in years. Strong heart, came off two blood pressure meds....all since the mid-March shutdown.

Gone to full time work from home instead of twice a week.

Restaurants now serve booze to go.

Not spending as much money on gas.

To be honest, this really has not affected my life at all.

I'm not a very social person, so I don't go out often. I only have a few close friends who I hang out with. I'm a pretty reserved person and most of my hobbies are individualistic: trail running, art, piano, creative writing, working on the yard, fine tuning my truck, and reading. I'm a pretty solitary young guy who lives out in the country.

I still work in the suburbs. My internet connection sucks where I live (it's fed via cell tower) so I have to go into the office to get my work done efficiently. The biggest impact this has had on my life is the bizarre feeling of just about everyone being cleared out of the office. I do miss the daily interactions there, though. I see so few people at work now.

In the service field. Work has increased a good bit, gas is cheaper and the roads were alot nicer to get around on as well. Overall, more $.
