Was friends with someone who was in a position to know the details of Dye’s liver condition in early ‘93, just after he retired. He told me it was quite possible that the ‘92 Iron Bowl would be the last AU game he would be alive to see.

Absolutely amazing that he’s still drawing breath 27 years later.

Terrible news if true. Dye is both old and in terrible health. He is the perfect stereotype of the type of person this virus is killing. Hope he pulls through!
