I just don’t get it. As I stated on the thread, “O” stuck by her side during a serious health issue. From all I have seen the previous few years, they were in love and unbreakable.
What happened? (And please anti-Lsu fans don’t make up shite).
While Orgeron is a different character as a HD, I don’t get the divorce. They appeared to be happy so what gives? Think what you want but my money is on “O” and his wife either cheating or something else.

I don’t know anything and neither does anyone here, but I think it was about having time for each other. I could see the wife getting upset that Ed wasn’t home much.
Ed is a tireless worker to a fault sometimes and he will probably do this until he dies. She may have seen no ending to the cycle.

On the OT thread it mentions that she has had a pill problem for awhile. I don't know if its true but that seems to be the rumor floating around on that thread.

Public lives and private lives are very different things. It's what feeds the addage, "never meet your heroes, lest they be found to have feet of clay."

The public is what we want others to see. The private is what you show only to those close to you. The secret is what you'd never show anyone for fear of shame or embarrassment.
The latter ranges from the benign porn fetish to the serial killer/child rapist that was the "nicest guy and best neighbor."
When overlaid with the complexities of human interaction in a relationship, in particular a long term relationship, any range of things could contribute to a drift apart sparked by pressures of maintaining a false public life, differing emergent goals in private lives, and/or discovery of your partner's secret life.
That said, it truly isn't any of our business and resides as trivial, tabloid-esque gossip and reality TV like drama for the most part.
Hope the seperation is smooth for all and easy as it can be for the family and friends closest to Coach O and his wife. But, it really isn't any of our business.

shite happens. That's life. This wasn't some spur of the moment decision though, I promise u that. They've been dealing with this for a while now and it finally has come to a head. Sucks for them and their family, but at least their kids are all out of high school and adults now. I'm sure that is what played into them waiting until now to actually proceed with a divorce. He said they've been separated for some time now as well. It's really surprising though, it just goes to show that people lives and their relationships aren't always what they seem to be in public and it could be totally different in private behind closed doors. Best of luck to them though. It's always hard to go through a divorce, especially when they have been married to each other for more than 20 years. But, like I said, that's life. You just have to keep rolling with the punches thrown your way, and Ed O is great at that. Hope everything works out for them and their family and they can get some peace in their lives. People screaming she cheated on him are, in all honesty, just trying to throw the best light on this for Coach O as possible. You might as well be screeching he divorced her because she refused to let him keep having sex with farm animals.

I have no freaking clue.
I suspect it is, as some have said, that the pressures and strains of a college coaching career don't just fall on the coach but on the spouse as well. The late, and very great, Pat Summitt went through a divorce after all.
High level coaching comes with high level strain. Lesser things have ruined a marriage. I'm sorry it did not work out for them.
