This may be the earliest any off-season championship has ever been sealed up.

So who's going to be off-season runner-up?

I seriously don't see how getting Scott Cochran on your staff is some great victory.

Scott is just using UGA as a stepping stone to Arkansas

And neither do you.

Saban was willing to give Cochran a massive raise to remain at Alabama in early-2016, but no longer. He sees what many Alabama fans have begun to notice - we aren't out-physicaling teams at the line of scrimmage anymore. This trend started in 2017 and has gotten progressively worse.

Cochran has been slipping. Combine the above with the fact that our players have been getting nicked up more and more with injury over the last three seasons and it has become readily apparent that Cochran just isn't the same coach he was 4-5 years ago.

That's probably why Saban laughed in his face when he came into Saban's office asking for a promotion.

LOL, congrats on your special teams coach that hasn't been coaching special teams. Sounds like a great get.

Not seeing how a person with no coaching experience is a great hire

I think the Cochran hire is as much about recruiting as anything. Despite his deficiencies as an offensive coordinator Coley was a pretty strong recruiter and Cochran is there to fill that gap.

I’m sure that’s what happened.

One less good coach that Bama has is good enough for me.

I was out this afternoon and tuned into Slimebaum and this Cochran shite was what 90% of his show was about....Hell, you'd thought Saban had left to take a position coaching job at UGA....Slimebaum was about to cry it sounded like at one point.

I don't even know if he's THAT good anymore. The Alabama defense of 2019 was probably the least prepared, from a strength and conditioning stand-point, of any Alabama defense going back to 2006. I just find it interesting that Saban just let him go without putting up much of a fight. Clearly he wanted to keep him in 2016. He didn't seem to mind him leaving in 2020.

It was also probably the least gifted since at least 2009 just based on recruiting rankings.

Link?

There was plenty of talent on that roster last year. A lot of it was young, however, due to injuries. And while injuries can be attributed to bad luck, I still feel like Cochran's failing S&C program had something to do with them.

Our starting MLB last year was way too slow to play the position and part of that was because he was too jacked. That's on Cochran.
