Leach wants 64...or 16 at the fewest.
(It's fun to watch him make fun of the anti-playoff people. He basically called them a bunch of morons. Mike Leach being Mike Leach here...)

Still not enough to get MSU in.

Whenever he said it, he was really blasting the anti-playoff folks here.

We already have a huge playoff, it’s the regular season.

LSU beats 16 Seed UAB in Baton Rouge 63-7
Yay playoffs

Here’s a question for Leach: will he drop his “What do you expect? They recruit better players than us” line after a Miss State game like he did at Wasu

Hey, I get it. I'm just posting Leach's view here. He thinks you're a moron, cause, after all, every other football division (college and high school) does a big playoff. What's so hard about it. EVERYONE else does it that way.
(I'm just pointing out what Mike said here...)

Oh man. Are we going to get a thread every time he talks?
Because if so ... I LOVE IT!

I chuckled more times than I'd like to admit during that.

All other levels of college are incredibly boring. The same team has won fcs what 7 of 8 years. Comparisons to high school are irrelevant because in high school most players don’t choose where they play.
Think under a the BCS we never had a repeat championship game. In the playoff, we’ve already had the same two teams play in the championship 3 times.

I've wanted this. Reduce the regular season to eleven games. No more conference championships. And have a thirty-two team playoff, with the first two rounds being on campus. The "bowls" would be the quarterfinals, the semifinals, and the championship. It would be enormous, and would take a lot of the bullshite out of college football.

But wouldn't we have MORE parity under a larger playoff?

64 would be hilarious, but 16 IMO would be fun as hell, FCS does 24

Speak for yourself, I followed GaSo close when they were in FCS and the playoffs were fun AF. Sure beats the hell out of the bowl system where a bunch of players are sitting out now and we have amazingly irrelevant matchups like 6-6 New Mexico State against 7-5 Liberty.

Leach is also one to rant about participation trophies I'm sure

There’s clearly been a lot less since we went to 4. The FCS has a lot less this decade than FBS.
What reason is there for me to believe a bigger playoff means more parity?
This isn’t basketball. Upsets are hard to come by in football. Usually it involves the better team not preparing well, and that rarely happens for a playoff game. Giving teams like Alabama mulligans just makes it more likely they win: see 2017

Add every other football division together and their success, profits (if any), and status is still measley compared to FBS football.
