And honestly basketball usually, we're just in an absurdly bad dry spell due to a horrific hire (Bryce Drew), and some awful luck with injuries. I fully expect Vandy will work its way out of it eventually (might take 3-4 years, Bryce Drew was a brutally bad hire). The program isn't dead, we'll be back. Jerry Stackhouse is a far better coach than Drew, but John Wooden couldn't do much with the talent Drew left behind.

Yes. Let’s kick the smart folks out so we can all be much stupider.

It doesnt matter. Vanderbilt will never be kicked out. As stated, they are a charter member. You just dont kick a member out of a P5 conference because their program sucks. Someone has to be the bottom dweller in football and that is Vandy most years. There is a certain amount of prestige having them in the league just like Duke in the ACC or Northwestern in the B1G or Stanford in the PAC (who has a tremendous athletic program BTW). You dont do it because you dont know if your program might be the next one kicked out.

You want to throw away Vanderbilt because of their relative poor showing in the sports you selected?
What about baseball? Hmmm? What if Vanderbilt wanted to throw away the rest of the SEC members due to not measuring up academically to their standards? If it happened, the SEC would turn into a one-team show.
Sorry...but, Vandy gives the SEC academic credibility and it's important to be "well-rounded", both academically as well as athletically. In the former, Vandy is our "cherry-on-top".
Keep'em.

Well, Gator, you certainly will not ever be accused of being one of the "smarter folks".
It's not "stupider"---it's, "more stupid" (such as describes Florida folks).

LOL. More like:

Baseball = 3%
W Basketball = 1.5%
All other sports = .5%

You are really that dumb, aren’t you?
That’s a rhetorical question. No need to answer.

so you want to make the conference harder?
This argument is about TV markets dumbass and the fallacy of what some TV markets "bring to the table"

I'm pretty sure Vanderbilt is a charter member of the SEC which makes this a very silly question.

They have no fans and cheat on baseball scholarships.
If I could pick one school that doesn’t belong it’s Texas a&m but since the conference is now obsessed with tv markets, I might as well switch my vote to Vanderbilt.

Vandy has won more overall National Championships than Georgia

Didn't you also do a "should Clemson replace Carolina" thread? You need some pussy.

Are you fricking crazy??? They just received over $44 Million from the SEC
Where else could they get this kind of Money

I mean obviously they more than carry their weight in baseball, but that's the only sport that really matters in which they field a competitive program these days.
I feel like the current atmosphere in college athletics just doesn't support a school like Vanderbilt with the ability to compete. At this point, they are bringing zero value to the league. I understand they are a Charter member of the conference, but at some point they either need to invest in competing in athletics or drop out.
Why don't you pitch in to help them to hire a better AD there?

I haven’t read the entire thread, just the OP.
So I’m guessing I’m not the only to notice that you very conveniently left out baseball.

Well to be fair, if I’m not mistaken so we’re Tulane and Suwanee.
And Georgia Tech for that matter
