Have you ever seen a team implode this much?

Maybe implode is the wrong word but it just goes to show you lsu doesn't know how to handle success. I dont know if I've seen a team do more harm to themselves and lose more coaches after winning a championship.

I mean it happens, team wins a championship their coaches move on to better jobs.
We'll see how it ends up. We've been spoiled with Saban, regardless of the turnover, we've always been aces as long as we have him.

Yea I wouldn't get too caught up in it.
We all laughed at the idea that Burrow and Brady would be any good. We'll see how it all turns out.

It’s not unusual. It just all happened in a matter of 48 hours.
It’s all been fun and games but LSU won’t be going anywhere. They will take a step back in 2020 but they have recruited very well and will get a bump for 2021 with the title.

It most definitely will be a good case study in coaching changes, player changes, and their effects, on some other team than Alabama. At the moment, at least all LSU is losing is their DC and their QB guru. If Emsminger leaves, it really does start hurting. Not that any of us are overwhelmed by Em, but if he stays, it does provide stability.

Yeah it typically happens, but not usually all at once
I mean, they’re losing:
-Offensive coordinator (ahem, passing game coordinator)
-Defensive coordinator
-GOAT QB
-#1 RB
-#2 WR
-#1 TE
-Entire O-Line except the RT
-both MLBs
-best OLB
-best Def. Lineman
-half their secondary including best defensive player/all-world safety.
8/11 Offensive starters and 6/11 defensive starters
That’s... a lot

It says a lot about the leadership or lack thereof at LSU. It's going to be interesting to see where LSU football goes now because the previous AD, Alleva, made it a point that Aranda remained when Orgeron took the job. Honestly, I think Aranda felt skipped over (I mean he was the DC and DL position coach is named interim?) and it was Louisiana politics that put Orgeron in that job and nothing more. Now, the job is solely Orgeron's who will be hiring both coordinators.

What happens with the offense is the difference maker. LSU will feel Aranda’s loss sure, but they will field a competent defense.
On offense, there is the Ensminger problem. He is not a good OC period. Does Orgeron find another capable guy to be shadow OC or does he decide Ens learned enough in a year to suddenly understand modern offense?
If he leaves it up to Ensminger they won’t have a fun 2020.

You have to get your coordinators right, or else. Our defense should say it all. Aranda kept Special Ed employed. Just as Chief came sweeping in to save Les Mile's bacon. If you recall, Les's teams were giving up a lot of points before he finally talked Chavis into coming to Baton Rouge.
Aranda's defense got shacky at times as they tried to stay in sync with their newfound offense, but their games against Oklahoma and Clemson were typical Aranda domination.

I didn't know anything about Brady when he came to LSU, but by the end of the season I did laugh at the LSU fans that thought he would be there long term.

Kinda looks like what happens to us every time we win it all. I’m sure someone has counted how many coaches have gotten hired away from us, which would have broken many a program.
Question becomes will they be able to replace all the departures.

My 10 year old daughter can successfully call plays when someone gives them to her.

Don't think implode is the right word. I don't want to call it luck, either, but it's pretty accurate. They returned a ton of starters and plugged in a system that their QB turned in a virtuoso performance with. I have no doubt the coaches realize what this year was and know the expectations that come with it are unattainable. Every game and every season will be graded against this year. It's the perfect storybook season, what better time to move on than now?
