First of all congrats to LSU. They outplayed us. Great finish to the season for yall.
I was suprised how often LSU didn't use the RB, but it was effective. When LSU spreads you out and takes away the ability to use safety help and Burrow is on with those WRs, its a machine. I was surprised how much success you found against our corners, but that is a credit to the WRs and Burrow throwing dimes. I was more worried about the safety play, but they held up well enough.
When it was 28-25 in the third quarter, I thought we could finish the drill. The problem was our OC decided to try and win it with Lawrence instead of riding Etienne. We had an edge running the ball and then for some reason with the game in reach we decided to match LSU throwing the ball. Big mistake. Your OCs did everything right, and ours were pretty average.
Credit to LSU... they were the better team. Clemson needed A+ Lawrence and OC play calling to win that game, but your D had something to do with that. Enjoy the natty.

Honestly, I think that both teams could have made better use of the RBs.

You have a hell of a defense man. They had Joe all fricked up early and cost him the completion percentage record.
I don’t know why either team didn’t run more. Both the backs were getting yardage off tackle.

My thoughts are you have a very good team but you’d drop a game or two in SEC play, not necessarily to a better team either. Look at how close Auburn played LSU.

LSU beat 5 Top 8 teams this year, which is unreal. Clemson, at this point, is a machine, they just ran into a buzzsaw. They'll be in the same position next year most likely and have shown the year after they lose a playoff game they win the whole thing.

Everyone crowned Trever Lawrence the best and he has all the talent but, the difference in years between the two quarterbacks showed up big time tonight.

I was impressed by Clemson's defense. LSU's defense stepped up in the second half.

Spot on take. Whoever called the three play sequence, in the third quarter, that started off with a speed option to the short side of the field needed to walk home. I fully believe, down 28-25, that if you ride Etienne there and score to tie or take the lead that the game comes down to the last position. For whatever reason, T Law just could not produce when the Clemson defense handed him the game back with the score in reason.

LSU was definitely a buzzsaw on offense. I felt like we had enough answers/stops on D to make a game of it, but our O really let us down (and credit to LSU's defense).
We will see about next year. We will be replacing 4 senior OL. I expect our DL to be much improved next year. That is something that allowed Auburn to be effective against LSU that we didn't have for the first time in 4 years. Simmons will be missed on D.

He doesn't have Burrow level accuracy, but this was his worst game as a Clemson Tiger IMO. Some of that was LSU doing a good job, some of that was him just being off. We missed not having a safety valve guy like Renfrow for Lawrence to fall back on.
He is more talented than Deshaun Watson, but he doesn't quite have that same dog in him where he consistently elevates his game in the big moments.
