While things have certainly changed, 9 of the 14 SEC teams are in the Top 30 of Total Defense. Edit to add: Granted Auburn, LSU, and A&M currently sit at 28-30.
What other league compares? The B1G at 7 of their 14 (would be closest)? ACC 3/14? PAC-12 2/12? BigXII 1/10?
