Not sure what schools he's coached at really has to do with if people over-value him as a coach.

I guess when you take a walkon QB and lead the Nation in passing your name gets thrown around as being a pretty good coach

Damn. Cant make fun of state if they land leach

Maybe, but their defense will be shite, and they likely won't be great on the OL. However, their QB and skill players should be lights out.

Leach at State and Lane at Ole Miss would be entertaining

It would be the most entertaining state rivalry in a very, very long time.

Maybe ever.

Hal is working for Bob Stoops right now in Dallas with a pretty laid back gig in the XFL.

Doubt he leaves that

State pulls better defensive players than Wazzou ever will

Plus Leach’s Vertical Set Scheme is pretty OL friendly.

Most over-rated and yet at the same time, most entertaining coach in college football.

He's turned around two shitty programs and brought them into national rankings they were not accustomed to seeing. He has been damn impressive.

See a lot of State fans that wouldn’t be happy with this hire, why? This guy can flat out coach offenses.

Whens the last time Wazzou won 10 games

Whens the last time TT was a top 10 team / beating top 10 teams

Pretty good given the talent hes working with

It may not happen, but I think it would be a good hire for Cowbell

I agree. About the only hire they could make that would make me jealous and also perplexed because I have always said whoever he coaches when and if he comes to the SEC, I will pull for.

Didn’t Mike Leach beat y’all like 200 times?

I had no idea he was 7-3 against aTm until you brought it up.

Meeting was in Key West, where Leach has a home.
Crazy if they don't hire him.

Starkville and Lubbock seem like sister cities. Fat sister cities.

One thing about Leach and Starkville, when he talks about his players and their fat little girlfriends, he's not too far off.

Any State fan talking shite about Mike Leach doesn't deserve Mike Leach and doesn't know football. I believe Leach would be a great fit if he hired a good DC with ties to the Southeast.

He's not the worst coach ever, but he's barely above .500 and has 0 championships unless you count 2 division titles in 20 years.

I'm sure someone will bring up the teams he's coaching, but do you have to wonder why that's the level of team he coaches and why he isn't moving up?

You post like you are skird. I hope State hires him before Auburn does.
