That wasn't the first time he was suspended. He was kicked off the team for a few games earlier in the season.
And, if everything is to be believed...it was because he was hurt and his coach was yelling at him for not going back into the game. he yelled back at the coach.
Look. There have been several incidents that is troubling. All I am saying that in the greater scheme of things both of these instances were relatively minor. IF the information we are getting is legit.
I do find it amusing that after teams are out of the recruitment that their fans start to pile on and the incidents become much more serious and he becomes "nothign but trouble" and a cancer.
Some fan bases have flip flopped from "He's great!" to "He's a cancer!" to "He's great!" 2-3 times depending on if their team is in it or not.
I will say, that the red flags are there, and it won't hurt my feelings if he goes elsewhere. But, if he comes the Georgia, I will be okay with that, too. All of our teams have had their fair share of troubled kids in the past, so nobody should feel like they have a moral high ground to stand on. (Not saying that is what you are doing....just in general)

Look, A&M can't afford to turn him away if he truly wants to come, but if he wanted to come to A&M, he would have already enrolled. We only have 1 scholarship running back on the roster and 2 currently signed. We need a 4th back regardless and if he's going to string us along, he's not worth the effort.

He will be in Tennessee in the next couple of hours for a visit this weekend.

I hear this reasoning a lot...but he could be enrolled anywhere. Just because he hasn't enrolled at A&M doesn't mean he won't be in the future. Or at UGA, LSU or anywhere else. I mean think about it. Couldn't he be enrolled anywhere right now?

I understand that sentiment as well. A lor of teams have turned away good players because they thought he was coming to their school. Georgia included.

This kid is going to be guaranteed trouble wherever he ends up.
There have been schools in the SEC that have been able to keep future murderers eligible long enough to help them win. Never underestimate major programs’ ability to keep kids in line as long as they are beneficial to the school. After they leave school, then they’re on their own.

For not wanting to give up his phone. If that is the worst thing he does, I would be fine with it. I get that he defied his coaches authority, but I saw Burrow arguing with and giving Orgeron a dirty look at one point of the NC game. Most coaches/players let it go and drive on....like Orgeron and Burrow did. To act like confrontations do not happens between coaches and players is silly.
Fair enough. You haven’t changed my mind about this kid and his character, but if the talent outweighs the potential drama, by all means. Go get em.
I personally like the nose to the ground type RBs.

And this is fair, too. I don't know if his talent will outweigh the drama. I do know that a lot of what has been pinned on him has come from speculation.
He has been accused of having grade issues, getting in fist fights with his coaches and teammates and a lot of other stuff, that has been debunked.
And a lot of the stuff has come from speculation.
There are red flags, no doubt. There certainly has been a couple of confrontations with his coaches, and I think that has been the big issues. That and his flip flopping between schools.
Honestly, I think his flip flopping has been a product of his thinking he is creating excitement and "playing the recruiting game", and he does not know how much he is hurting the perception of him as a player and a person.
He needs to get his act together, though.

Need to change the title to “The Evans Saga”
This is the most entertaining thread I’ve ever read.

Maybe Pruitt should try and fight him.

UT usually ends up with this kinda trash.
See Bryce Thompson who has sexual assault issues. They took him no issues.

Lol. The greater scheme?? Explain how yelling at your boss is ok in any scheme. You cannot have a kid yelling at coaches on sideline. Period. It’s not minor.

Didn't harm Bama in the semi-final game when that player tried to fight the coach.

It hurt the kid who was kicked off the team.

Well, we have had schools sign kids accused of sexual assault, assault and battery, and donzens of other things. We have had schools sign kids who were kicked out of schools for domestic assault then have to kick that kid off THEIR team for domestic violence and then have to kick the kid off their team for domestic violence....
No, it isn't Okay to yell at a coach, but do you seriously believe that doesn't happen every single year on college football teams. I would venture to say it happens a lot on high school teams and most college teams. To argue otherwise means you have not played at a very high level of football. Teammates have fights a good bit of the time, too.
Football is a highly charged sport and a lot of emotions come out. but don't ignore the circumstances. He was injured and the coach was yelling at him for not going back into the game. I believe a coach or team mate came out and said that.
No. It is not a good thing. But schools and teams have players doing a whole lot worse. Typically when the heat of the moment passes the kid and coach gets together and apologies are made and they move on. But don't ever think that coaches and kids don't yell at each other.

Supposedly he doesn’t have the test score to enroll at Georgia.

If he has the test scores to enroll to at Lsu or A&M then he has them for Georgia.

If the info was correct that he signed a LOI with UGA and they released him then Evans does not have any signing day pressure on him. He is a free agent because he cannot sign another one this recruiting cycle. So we will probably have to wait until summer to see where he shows up.
