Damn - definitely a new sheriff in town after reading the arrest details.

“A glock was in the glove compartment. But they told them about it, and it was legally owned”
Why the frick report it then?

Because this has nothing to do with what is legal or non (small amounts of weed are no longer an offense, for example, but makes the report) and everything to do with painting a picture of UGA players driving around with a gun, a bottle of Hennessy, and some weed residue.

Not as loud as the lip smacking of bored cops and reporters turning a relative non issue into a multi day story

I have to wonder if it actually was a glock, or some other kind of handgun and the writer wanted it to sound more thuggery.
If the writer meant it was literally a Glock, he would have capitalized it, because it is a trade name, pursuant to AP style, and could get sued for genericizing the brand.

Eta looks like it's capitalized now.

So the ONLY reason he got pulled over was because he had a dealer tag (wasn't expired) and he "suspiciously moved to the middle Lane?"
No broken lights,he wasn't speeding and he wasn't weaving?
This is complete horseshite. Its NOT a valid reason to pull over anybody.I think we ALL know the reason they got pulled over.
Any good attorney should be able to get these charges tossed

I posted this in the SECr thread on why he got pulled over too. There is no doubt this is will get thrown out, the issue is the damage has been done. There will no doubt be some people sniffing around on where he got a car with dealer plates on it (which the car didn't have insurance tied to it), without a valid driver's license, driving around at 1am....

Not a good look but let's this gets resolved quickly.

Don't think this stuff is too worrisome but it still sucks that our players are getting pulled over because these cops are profiling these guys.
Not one legit/legal reason to pull these guys over IF this report is the full story
Kirby and Mcgarity need to get this shite straight asap. Needs to be a lawsuit sooner or later if it doesn't get resolved.

He has a rich brother. He is the guy you want to get pulled over in a dealer tag car. NFL brother is easier to explain than “ gift from Uncle”.

I don’t think it was dealer tag as in this car is new and we don’t have plates for it yet. I think it was dealer tag as in this vehicle belongs to a car dealership. Which is not a good look if true.

Depends on how long he had the car. If it was just a rental until his car gets fixed for a few days then it's not a big deal. If he's had it for a few months then it's a big deal.

I read it the opposite way.
Dealer tag as in new purchase. The cop was trying to see when the temporary tag expired. After pulling over, the insurance information wasnt in the state database (not uncommon for a purchase within a few days).

That makes sense, hopefully that’s the case. That’s a temporary tag though, not a dealer plate. Semantics I guess.

You are right. Semantics

I would be interested in seeing the incident report. There would be absolutely no probable cause to pull over a vehicle with a “dealer” plate. There might be probable cause to pull someone over with a temporary tag issued by a dealership.

All I know is James couldn’t have killed that man because the man is still alive!
