Oh the horror

ETA: Cops just take our beer and let us go on our way in high school in the 80s. I doubt the beer made its way into evidence either.

Very surprising that players can get Dodge Chargers and paid under the table but the cops can’t get paid off.

I’d have him call his coach and I’d speak with the coach and not arrest him. Much like cops often do in military towns with servicemen - call their sergeant.

With how much the football staff micro-manages is every aspect of the players lives, you would think a license wouldn’t expire or if suspended someone would know.

I understand that the player should be responsible!!

I would just think that every athlete, when arriving at the school each academic year would have their license scanned and it be checked. Can’t be that hard.

I agree. I'm not making excuses for Cook (dumb is dumb) the student athletes have a lot on their plate and a high level of team management should be taking care of these kind of details. You don't see these kind of ticky tacky arrests at Alabama so it would seem that Kirby still has stuff to learn from Saban.

Frankly there should be monthly meetings on grades, home life, and things like suspended licenses.

So does this mean we have an early lead for the “Fulmer Cup?”

To paraphrase Trump, I like players who don't get caught. We should recruit the sly lawbreakers. Look for players who fool the refs and get away with holding and pass interference.
