Irwin reported it tonight.

LINK

Apparently runs a power RPO offense. Pittman goes back to Georgia with him. He's also been an OC at Minnesota and ULL.

Jay Johnson is in his first year on the Colorado staff as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, as he was one of the first two coaches hired by new CU head coach Mel Tucker, joining the Buffalo staff on Dec. 11, 2018.

Johnson, 49, is a veteran coach and administrator of 24 seasons, including nine as an offensive coordinator at three previous Football Bowl Subdivision institutions in addition to coaching quarterbacks, running backs and tight ends as a position coach.  He came to Colorado from the University of Georgia, where he spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons as the offensive analyst for quality control.

At Georgia, he assisted in all off-field phases of game planning and recruiting, helping the Bulldogs to an overall record of 24-4 in his two years on Kirby Smart’s staff.  UGA won the 2018 Rose Bowl/CFP semifinal over Oklahoma in a wild 54-48 double overtime thriller, advancing to the College Football Playoff Championship game, where Alabama had to rally to defeat Georgia in overtime, 26-23.

He joined the Georgia staff from the University of Minnesota, where he spent the 2016 season as the Gophers’ offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, calling the plays for head coach Tracy Claeys.  UM posted a 9-4 record which included a 17-12 win over Washington State in the Holiday Bowl as the Gophers averaged their third highest point total – 29.3 – on offense in 70 seasons.

As the University of Louisiana’s (former UL-Lafayette) offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for five seasons (2011-15), the Ragin’ Cajuns were one of the most electrifying offenses annually in the nation.   Louisiana constantly ranked in the top 30 in most major offensive categories, often higher in red zone efficiency, as in 2012 ULL led the nation with a 94.8 percentage (55 scores in 58 tries; 44 touchdowns and no turnovers).  He coached quarterbacks Blaine Gautier and Terrance Broadway to top 20 finishes in passing efficiency and was part of 40 victories, which included four straight 9-4 campaigns.

Been doing some stats browsing and outside of two years at ULL, there’s nothing even above average about his work. Very uninspiring in my short amount of research.

A friend who knows him said Pittman has no plans to hire Jim Chaney and that his offense will not be pro style but similar to what Arkansas has been running. (hopefully with better results) Will ask Pittman directly at Monday's presser.

Ugh.

Don't know anything about the guy, but my hopes were for a top notch staff.

Hope this thing doesn't turn out to be a band-aid until the next guy arrives.

Every time I see him and grit do a segment together I think to myself, Is this the best you have to put forward KNWA? It looks like two dog rectums on my screen.

Eh, they went up almost a full 7 points when he got to Minnesota, that isn't some minor improvement. The Colorado numbers look meh this past year.

They both seem like they've never seen a mirror in their lives.

Mike Irwin may not know shite. He didn't know shite in the search.

I hardly ever watch the news but the other day I saw Otis on tv for the first time and he sounded disgusting. You could tell he had a bunch of snot up his nose and phlegm in his throat.

I wonder how many recruits we've lost because of these nasty arse people

We need some babes to cover recruiting and interview the recruits.

Yep. Otis, Wally, Davenport, Jim Harris. How did we reach a point where we're expected to look at these jacklegs like they know all the inside info?

I just wish our "recruiting guys" didn't all look like old nasty pedos. I cringe to think these are the guys stalking potential recruits and texting and calling them. WTF

We are gonna throw around all that "Arkansas Money" and hire the best staff in the country. Just like we did for head coach, and just like we did last time for assistants.

Miami's total offense (with the beloved Dan Enos) ranked #90.

Colorado was ranked #83.

Recruiting ranking for 2017 and 2018:

Miami 2017: #12
Miami 2018: #8

Colorado 2017: #35
Colorado 2018: #54

So Dan, with much more talent, had a worse total offense.

But both Dan and Jay have really only had 1 bad year as OC (2019).

ETA: I'm not saying he's a great hire (if that's who it is), I'm just posting some info.

Very funny, was trying to get my niece to choose being a sports reporter last night. She had mentioned some other stupid stuff like modeling ha but I’ll continue working on it. And no, no pics but she’s beautiful and not in that Jen B so so face and 12 year old body with boobs way- she’s actually beautiful.

It's not about the stats brother, it's all about how everyone feels. Except the fans, who pay for this shite show to be produced.

i was nonplussed with the pittman hire then a little encouraged after the players' reactions, then seeing this name come out as the proposed OC completely deflated the positivity.

for guys with cred, working under pittman isn't going to get them looks for HC jobs. for up-and-comers, it's too risky and they'll jump on to established programs.

assistants will make or break the hire, and i'm not feeling optimistic right now.
