There is precedent.

GOOGLE Todd Bertuzzi.

Mason Rudolph's bitch act was bad, but what Garrett did was assault with a weapon

He should be suspended for the rest of the season or at least several games and be fined heavily. I don't think he should face criminal charges.

Myles Garrett was raped in his youth by La’El Collins.

Cut the kid some slack.

I’m sure he would love it in prison

I will bet money that even if they try to pursue criminal prosecution. Mason Rudolph will refuse to press charges.

Idk, that's a felony in any other part of your life. He's lucky he didn't do anything with that hit. tPOS.

Yeah, I think seeing Rudolph laughing and calling him names after the game probably saved Garret some serious trouble.

If Rudolph was laid out, getting stitches, then Myles would be looking at 3 hots and a cot, IMHO

That’s not how it works
It was on tv, no testimony needed

He should. He is a lowlife criminal.

That guy was skating away when he got punched. Rudolph started the fight. Not exactly the same thing.

How many assaults are exactly the same? It's still a crime

If that happened outside of a football stadium he would certainly be in jail at this moment. Any way you look at it that is assault and he should be dealt with harshly. In today’s NFL he’ll probably get a 2 game suspension and a fine.

He should be kicked out of the league. How is that any worse than hitting your girlfriend in an elevator ? He used the helmet as a weapon and stuck a player with no helmet in the head with it. That's assault, plain and simple.

Looked like he did, to me at least. But that's playground stuff. Doesn't matter who started it

I sat on a jury the other day and was reminded that assault is any act that creates apprehension of imminent harm. If that is the case most of the NFL stuff qualifies as assault.

Garrett seems to have blown way past that gone straight to the Battery part of the equation.
