College gameday will be in Memphis this Saturday for a top 25 matchup between Mike Norvell’s Memphis tigers and Sunny Dyke’s SMU mustangs.

I would take either of these coaches. Dykes knows how to clean up a Morris mess

I doubt either would take the job given only two years to build their program.

Neither of those have proven shite.
Dykes failed at Cal.

The coach we should have hired (Norvell) playing against the coach who replaced our current coach at SMU and is thriving in spite of what he was left (Dykes).
You can't make this shite up.

It's really something, what SMU has been able to get rolling, once they got rid of Chaggie.

Dykes hit the lottery with Buechele as his QB transfer.
We...did not
We...did not

Look, I'm tired of Chad and his crew here at Arkansas, but he handed Sonny Dykes a stable football program heading in the right direction. He took them from the worst program in college football to respectable. I say that with the full understanding that he's taken a terrible Arkansas team and made us worse.

This
But don't bring logic and reason into this, people are enjoying their melt.

Not really looking to give him a round of applause for what he might have done for his last stop. He's paid for the Hogs to do well and so far he's done nothing to warrant keeping his job.

Exact same can be said for Clemson.

Dykes had to bring in 15 transfers to contribute right away to get the roster up to snuff. Morris left him a renewed winning culture throughout the program though.

There's 60 new players on the SMU roster this year. Morris can't take any credit at all

June Jones changed the culture of that program, him going all Steve Spurrier at the end doesn't change that.

Presently, SMU's entire offensive line consists mostly of transfers. Sonny Dykes was left with very little to work with.

Bump
Y'all watching this game? It's weird how... prepared?... both teams seem to be, is that something coaches can do now?
I miss exciting games like this where both teams show up and punch eachother in the mouth. I miss getting up for big games and feeling like we always have a chance to win.
Either one of these teams would SMOKE us right now. These are two good coaches that know how to get the best out of their players.
I think it's time to add Sonny Dykes to the official coaching "want" list and Norvell is tied with Clark as my #1. We need to get Norvell before someone else does, because they'll stop caring about his "issues" after this great season.
Dykes is a southern guy and southern coach, he's slowly built up every program he's been at (except for Cal, where he wasn't a good fit culturally). He may not be a world-beater in the same vein as a Petrino, but we'd see steady improvement and be well coached. We damn sure wouldn't look completely lost all the time.
I hope the admins are watching this game and taking notes. This is how you get the most out of the talent you can recruit and get them to play with moxie.

Sonny Dykes.
Eh...His name is very close to Jimmy Dykes. A little too close for my liking.
