Joe Brady is what Harbaugh and Kirby thought they were getting

with the hire of Josh Gattis and James Coley respectively. You can rest assured that other programs will come hard after Brady. Also, I bet a Sean McVay phenomenon will emerge with Brady, where people who've been around Brady will get hired solely for being in his presence.
So, whether Coach O keep Brady will be a true test of whether Coach O is actually going to be the next Dabo.
Finally, Brady could very well be the Next Ryan Day/Lincon Riley. I could see Coach O handing the reigns of the team to Brady and becoming AD at LSU.

I feel pretty confident when I say Coach O will not be the LSU AD.

If Kirby and Harbaugh truly thought that what LSU is doing right now is what they were getting out James Coley and Josh Gattis then they are bigger fools than I thought.

What in the sam hell are you talking about?

I am just happy he is being shown the respect he deserves. What he has done for LSU's offense, in 1 season, is insane. I hope like hell we can keep him, but we aren't naive to the fact some big opportunities will come calling, and rightfully so. i am choosing to focus on the present, and he currently has a Title contending offense clicking on all cylinders.

You don't think this is a possibility 3 or 4 years down the line when Brady's shoes become too big for the OC/passing game coordinator role?

He's got a lot to learn about running a major college program, but I could see this in 5-10 years.
He'll be our primary OC with a ridiculous salary soon and will only leave for a top HC opportunity.
ETA:
This is his current resume. He has basically no experience running anything or recruiting...
2013–2014 - William & Mary (LB)
2015–2016 - Penn State (GA)
2017–2018 - New Orleans Saints (OA)
2019–present - LSU (PGC/WR)

Joe Brady is LSU's o.c. in waiting.

Ensminger is teaching him how to have this big of a job and what comes along with it. Steve gets his state retirement pension I think next year and my guess is he retires or becomes our TE coach/offensive analyst to continue mentoring Joe Brady.
But it'll be Brady's show very, very soon.

This.
If Brady's future is in college football, I don't think LSU lets him get away. I just think he's going to end up in the NFL before too long.

We pretended we were getting change. It was hope, if we are being honest....we got more of what we had without the ability to polish that turd a little more.

You think Ed O is just going to pass off his dream job to a 33 year old kid to go after a job he would never get hired for or probably even want?

In no universe other than OP's head did kirby think coley was going to do what brady is doing.
It's been said 1000 times that kirby wants to run a specific offense (quite clearly, the one at bama from 07 to roughly 2013ish). He got coley because he knew coley would run the offense he wants just like chaney did.

Brady's future is HC at a P5 program next year. Several programs have already inquired

Brady may very well be LSU's OC some day soon, but Coach O isn't replacing Scott Woodward.
Ever.

Well obviously he'll be offered a major promotion. Whether we can keep him or not, who the hell knows?

Yup - agree re: Kirby. He's getting what he thought he was getting, generally.
As for Harbaugh, he may have truly thought/hoped he was getting something like LSU, but that was an asinine thing to think (really, hope).

Not trying to downplay Brady but it's not like this is brand new innovative stuff he's running (it is at LSU, but not nationally). The biggest thing is getting YOUNGER more innovative minds around the game. Look what Lincoln Riley has going at OU. Older coaches are less likely to go to newer concepts and less likely to want to change. Some of the best older coaches out there are the ones willing to adapt (See Nick Saban).
It's a matter of going after these younger guys who know what the next stage of the game is going to and handing over the reigns, not just hiring them and then handcuffing them. At this point Brady is basically a Co-OC in the booth with Ensminger, and they arent holding him back at all. 1 thing that's very tough for many older coaches set in their ways is to admit their way isn't the best and learn from someone younger.
