I am listening to the conference call right now. Wow, that guy is completely out of touch. He is completely unapologetic and shameless.

I can empathize. I walked over to the protest and found myself as disgusted with the protestors as the IHL. It cracks me up when someone will yell "free speech" and call a cop a fascist and then turn around and order the photog from the Clarion Ledger to quit taking their picture - public enough space for protest but not for photos.
However, the protestors in general are just a bunch 18 to 20 somethings, and part of college is figuring this stuff out too. I can remember being pretty self righteous about my own politics when I was that age. The IHL on the other hand are a bunch of grown arse men, and the more I hear about this, the shadier it all gets.

Whether they were right or not, most of the "protestors" I saw weren't remotely representative of the student body in general. Thank God.

If he wants to enhance fundraising, the first thing he's going to have to do is tell the ASB to frick off and listen to what the alumni want. The alumni are the ones with money. What the alumni want and what the students want are two entirely different things.

The vast majority of students don’t give a damn who the chancellor is. A sizable portion of them probably don’t even know his name. Maybe they should, but they don’t. So this group of weirdos that showed up yesterday can just make like a tree and leave. And by that, I mean school in general. See ya. They wouldn’t be missed.

The inmates have been running the asylum with the blessing of the chancellor for some time now. Don’t expect this to change, unfortunately.
