The vast majority of students don’t give a damn who the chancellor is. A sizable portion of them probably don’t even know his name. Maybe they should, but they don’t. So this group of weirdos that showed up yesterday can just make like a tree and leave. And by that, I mean school in general. See ya. They wouldn’t be missed.

We agree on this. These out of state students that come here and try to change everything can go screw themselves. At some point, the white guilt has to end and the focus should be to concentrate on education, research, and the success of the university over moving statues and endless changing of names. I mean, move on from the past. Past chancellors can't seem to get there and all that happens is more stories about 1962 in the national media. Ole Miss is not the same place that it was in 1962 and it is high time that we focus on those other things for once.

I’ll never understand the thinking behind some of these kids who go to OM knowing exactly what to expect, just like you would anywhere, and immediately become offended and begin to try and “change things.”

I always remember when they interviewed Deuce and asked him if he was offended by Colonel Reb. He said he couldn't care less what the mascot was, he came to play football.

The mascot/nickname will not discourage people from coming to our school. If the name offends you, go somewhere else because it was there when you decided to come to the school and will be there when you leave (with the exception of colonel reb).
