Are schools having a hard time finding people willing to play for what is currently given to them in terms of benefits? Are these kids starving?

That’s not a problem. There are thousands of people willing to fill the position, with all its risks, without being paid. No one is making these players take risks without pay.

It solves a perceived fairness issue.

I see their point but believe in the amateur part of the equation.

Hell, just pay them and stop making them attend classes that many of them shouldn't even be in. Stop pretending.

Give them a football certificate at the end of their collge pro career and be done with it.

California should do the rest of the country a favor and secede, and take all the liberal bastards from across the country with them.

Fairness? Like being able to get an education at a school you wouldn’t normally be able to get into, if you couldn’t jump high? Taking the spot in class of a more qualified student? That sort of fairness?

They already stopped

They’re getting BS degrees in made up and shitty majors that they don’t attend classes for because a manager on the FB team does their homework for them

They are the only thing "amateur" about amateur athletics. The coaches are paid NFL-level salaries, the schools and conferences receive billions of combined dollars in TV as well as ad revenue, and we justify this by telling ourselves the athlete is getting a free education. The only reason the vast majority of these athletes are even in college is because they can play football. If they had limited athletic ability, most of them would grow up to become bums on the street, and many of them ultimately become just that anyway.

That you can’t solve. There are people making millions to play sports who talk about how unfair it is that they aren’t paid more..

No they can't. They have to wait three years before they can enter the NFL Draft.
