from another thread...
ast night on the Pig Trail Nation, it wasn't soft lobs any longer.
1. Ok coach, What system is this. We see a glimpse but no continuity at all. Is there really even a system at all?
2. The play calling is so generic, unimaginative.
3. Club dub is ridiculous, it is now club dud.
4. When you say you saw it prior to the game, the looseness of the players, why didn't you do something about it?
Those 4 off the top of my head. Starting to sour, even in the media!
and now this... LINK
The words that do loom large are those of Hunter Yurachek from the day he was hired as Arkansas’ athletics director, replacing Jeff Long and becoming just the third man to hold the title in more than four decades.
“To me, losing football games is being terminated with cause,” Yurachek said at his introductory press conference. “The protection sometimes that coaches are provided within their contracts to me is ludicrous.”
He was specifically referring to the state of college football coaches’ buyouts, such as the $11.9 million one Bielema received, when he made that comment. Morris’ contract includes a buyout equal to 70 percent of his remaining deal - which would be $9.8 million on Jan. 1, 2020 - and there isn’t an obvious “losing clause” that'd eliminate it like what Yurachek mentioned, but the sentiment is still there.

I know this more refers to local media but Dan Wolken went in on him hard yesterday and this morning Arkansas times had a nice article named simply "Fire Chad Morris"

These buyouts are crazy. It's not like anyone else was looking to hire Morris and we had to fight to get the guy. There might be 5 coaches in CFB worth a buyout, the rest seem pretty replaceable.

Our admins are just really, really stupid. People like to blame Jeff Long for the state of the program, but he's not the one that gave a 14-22 head coach a 14 million dollar buyout.

I don't really see the harm in this as long as the expectations are set that the next day we are back to business.

Chad Morris is the definition of arse Clown.

Our foundation/board of trustees who sign-off and allow these buyouts are actually insane.
They continue to do it for coaches who aren't going to be candidates elsewhere and haven't accomplished anything here to deserve any of it.

Bobby's contract before the wreck was the only one that ever made sense.
And wasn't his buyout 100x more reasonable than either Bert's or arse Chad?

Coach clown shoes needed to win all non-con games this year. Well, that 's out the window. He will, once again, go winless in the SEC and lost to SJSU at home.
Serious question: How can you keep him after the season?

Even back for Bobby's original buyout where was he going. He left the NFL after flaming out to be a college coach again.
I could understand it after he showed progress a couple seasons here but that large buyout for security because Long was afraid he might leave and have to hire another head coach.
The Bielema buyout extension after the Texas bowl was epic foundation/BOT stupidity. We have not smart people in leadership positions which continue to make stupid decisions time and time again.

We really did show tremendous improvement during the 2014 season, though. From 3 wins to 7, but more importantly, we should have won the A&M game if not for a stupid penalty that negated a TD (a penalty that didn't even affect the play, so it's not like we scored the TD because of it), and an unforced goal line fumble, as well as a missed XP in a 13–14 loss against Alabama. We were in positions to beat Mississippi State and Missouri, too, but those two should have been wins for sure. 9–4 with a win over Alabama and likely ranked would have changed the narrative of Bielema's tenure quite a bit at the time. Not to mention every other win was a blowout. I'm sure Bert spun all of this in his favor after 2014, as well as gently reminding that he did nothing but win big in the B1G.
Coach salaries seem to be in a bubble in general. The climbing rates and massive buyouts don't seem sustainable.

At this point, this is crystal clear.

The bubble might be popping. We've already seen the effect of overbuilding stadiums with all the empty seats that even programs that are doing well show. We may be leaving a long term bull market and entering a well deserved bear market.

We’ve certainly been in a gigantic bear market on wins.

It’s standard for a power 5 school to do. Even ed o got this when nobody wanted him. The reason given is to avoid negative recruiting.
The bar was so low for Morris to get 3 years. A lot of people weren’t impressed with this hire but nobody predicted this level of incompetence

Winner winner. These people are the problem and nothing will ever change while they're running the show

The thing is, Chad would have taken this job if we paid him $2.5 million and had a $4-5 million buyout. Who else was banging down his door???
