I know you're poking fun at UT but they obviously would not qualify for this

UK and Vandy are shoeins, then take a west bottom dweller like arkansas or ole miss for the 3rd spot.

Kentucky/Vandy for the East, Tennessee honorable mention

But sprinkle in some Arkansas Ole Miss and Miss State from the West and it's your battle royal of the pillow biters.

Tennessee. Vandy and Ky have never been perennial contenders and they/we accept that. UTk won it all in 98 and have fallen into an abyss, the depths no one could ever have ever conceived of, thus the fall has been much further. Funny thing is, with the structure of the program, I don't know if they find a bottom in the next 5-10 years.

Based on what? The coaching carousel alone from the past 10 years completely negates the Fulmer success imo.

It’s been pretty painful over here, not Tennessee bad but still not good.

Since 2000 Arkansas has played in

1 SEC Championship game
11 bowl games
6 CWS
17 NCAA tournament baseball appearances
8 NCAA tournament basketball appearances

I mean I know we've sucked but that's not terrible

Kentucky since 2000 by coaches
2001 - 2002 Guy Morriss = not great, no bowls
2003 - 2009 Rich Brooks = not bad, 5 bowls, won 3
2010 - 2012 Joker Phillips = dark days indeed
2013 - 2019 Mark Stoops = started bad but things are looking up the past 3 years

With the current upswing the Cats may be peaking, not since Curci in the 70's and Bear in the 50's

These are the salad days...

For the Dores, the early 2000's saw the end of Woody, so good time to be a fan
Bobby Johnson got the Dores to the first bowl game in a generation, good time to be a fan
Franklin got Vandy (2) nine win seasons, good time to be a fan
Mason has Vandy with (2) 6 win season, good time to be a fan

Sure, not the Vandy of the pre WWII days, but not bad for a Vandy fan....

Vols won the 1998 MNC and have been a down hill slide ever since

These are not the salad days for the Vols...

If the thread title means across the board athletics, then UK would not apply based upon our overall athletic program success, not to mention having the #1 all time program in college basketball.

I would go with:
Vandy
Ole Miss
Arky/MSU/USC

I would put Ole Miss on the list instead of Tennessee. The Vols at least made three SEC Championship Games since 2000 which is better than Ole Miss who have never made it to Atlanta.

really? we have 2 national championships in baseball. 1 in tennis and 2 in bowling. we have been going to bowls. we have one of the top baseball programs in the country. we've beaten UT the last 3 years and 5 of the last 7. I'm pretty happy.

State was definitely one of the worst from 2000-2009, but we've been one of the more consistent programs over this past decade. so we probably average out to, well, average

But we nearly did. That's gotta count for something. And we ARE currently leading the West. And our coach loves his school more that all y'all's coaches love theirs combined.
