What's your solution? Leaving early is an annoyance. And when they don't show up at all, that's a different problem.

Allocate some of those seats for Tide Pride waiting list and risk offending potential future boosters?

Package the shite games and offer family friendly prices?

Risking a few of those seats accordingly, might be a compromise .

Don't have 3PM kickoffs in 98 degree heat and being up by 40 at halftime.

There isn't a solution. Saban needs to get over it.

Those end zone upper decks sure did look empty on the TV Saturday, and he's not calling the regular paying fans out.

Don't schedule #128 New Mexico State and play the game at 4 PM in early September in the 100 degree heat. I mean, sorry, but this shite is ridiculous from CNS. Maybe it's just therapeutic for him and that's fine, but that game is dogshite and that time slot/weather is dogshite.

Not showing up at all, as a student, pisses me off solely because I can't imagine wasting one of your limited on campus opportunities to be in the stadium.........but leaving early when its 62-7 in the 3rd quarter? Yea, sorry, not bothersome at all.

People leave blowouts in miserable conditions early in every sport in every corner of the country in every stadium. Wasting anger on that is just stupid.

This. Was at the game. Unbearably hot and we were blasting the other team. I’m usually on Saban’s side on this argument but this is a day I’ll give people a pass for calling it early.

Saban has been a fan of the P5 only scheduling, which I think is quite plainly the only solution.

I'm not saying playing Oregon State, Purdue, Maryland, or Kansas State would put any real fear in our hearts - however, you could somehow muster enough false anxiety to want to attend the game, interact with a fanbase you know is big and haven't seen before, and be coaxed by that to going to the football game.

This cupcake crap has gone on long enough. The only reason people went to these years ago was because they weren't televised. Sorry not sorry that kids, adults, and everyone in between would not waste a day on a foregone conclusion. Football is entertainment. I was not entertained Saturday.

Totally agree - I would be excited to see any of those teams come to Tuscaloosa. I would 100% attend, too.

Though I do think those games are insanely difficult for us to schedule. There is absolutely zero reason for Oregon State/Baylor/Northwestern to schedule 2 for 1 games with us (or 1 for 1s).

I think he's being 100% truthful when he laments how hard it is for us to get games, but he's clearly talking about a 2nd P5 game. we can get big programs like Texas, Oklahoma, etc to schedule home and homes. I think that the 2nd tier of P5 schools have absolutely zero desire to play a H&H with us.

A. Schedule a better opponent.

B. Play the game at night when it's cooler. The SEC NW had two unused channels that game could've been televised on last Saturday night.

The students don't give a shite and rather be on their phone anyway.

Yo Nick....never mention the F students again for it is only going to get worse every year with kids. They don't care about football.

I watched maybe 15 minutes total on TV and watched more TA&M/Clemson. My wife asked why wasn't I watching Bama nd I replied "the A-Day game we left at halftime two years ago was better than this".

How much power does the school have to say "we're kicking off at 7 and you networks and SEC office can FO if you don't like it"?

Hell, even at home in my AC I barely paid attention to it.

Step 1: Saban has sit down with the presidents of every Greek House.

Step 2: Convince said presidents to obligate their pledges to attend and stay for the entirety of the game.

Step 3: Focus on something else because the problem is solved.

Do you have a link to the latest rant? I just listened to his most recent press conference and all I heard him say about the fans is that he was appreciative of the ones who stuck it out under very difficult conditions. He went on to say that hopefully the administration will work to change kickoff times for games played early in the season.

Agreed on both points. If the student section is mostly full for the first half of a game like that he needs to consider it a small victory and let go of the fact that it was empty by the 4th quarter. It's almost as if he feels compelled to get mad about it because by not addressing it he's inadvertently treating New Mexico State differently than LSU or Auburn, which is something he preaches against to the players.

Bama has neutral site games the next two seasons, but none for the next 6 years or so thereafter. I wonder if the crap games were just a concession to guarantee the program and local merchants that 7th Tuscaloosa game every year?

Saban has made a point in the past about schedulng all P5 games. Maybe getting done with the NS games will help pick up some more 1 for 1's with teams we'd all pay to see in Tuscaloosa (or on the road, for that matter). I know it affects business models when Bama loses another home game. Not just the ticket sales, but local merchant sales and taxes collected also. Having a 1 for 1 and NS game in the same year would have been financially costly to more than just the FB program bottom line.

Ahhh, okay. Thank you and Bobby for providing links. He was super subdued and appreciative at today's press conference, so maybe Miss Terry put him on the treadmill this weekend

Saban just needs something to bitch about on weeks like this. The students will be there for the big games and be loud.
