Basically what was your best week 1 win and worst week 1 loss as we get into opening weekend.

For Mississippi State I'd say our best opening win was 1992 when we defeated Texas in Austin 28-10. It was a fun fun game to experience as a Bulldog Fan. And it was one of the many amazing moments of the Jackie Sherrill era. As all of y'all know we could do a ton about worst opening losses but my vote goes to 2008 Louisiana Tech. We had just come off a good season with Croom in 2007 with wins over Alabama Auburn and Ole Miss and we were optimistic that we had turned to corner. But losing to La Tech in Ruston was the beginning of the end and a miserable rainy game for someone who attended.

Our worst loss of my lifetime was the 2000 UCLA game. It turns out it was par for the course, but coming into a year ranked #3 and playing a UCLA team that finished 4-7 the year before (and only went 6-6 in 2000) and getting dominated was..........not ideal.

We did get that Freddie Milons opening punt return for a TD though!

As a UGA alum, the worst opening loss in my lifetime, to me, is an easy call.

1996- Southern Miss 11, UGA 7.

Those uniforms are the worst, but the loss was not. Boise was a very good team that year.

State's worst was that 2007 opener vs. LSU on Thursday night. I felt bad for your fans and feared for your players' safety.

Must be.

Beating UCLA on national TV under the lights in 1983 at Sanford is up there for opening game wins.

Worst was 1992 against A&M

Was 110 degrees in College station and my Parrain was the QB at the time(he isnt ugly). Aggy cheerdudes did let me play with the dog which was cool

Best was 2005 against Arizona State

It's definitely the worst opening game I have personally attended. Rained pretty much the whole game as well. I never would have dreamed we would end up having a winning season and winning a bowl game after that night. I thought we were on our way to a 2 or 3 win season, tops.

VOLS destroying a top 10 Cal team in Neyland in 2006 has to be up there. That was the Cal team with Marshawn Lynch and Desean Jackson and Tennessee jumped up 35-0 at one point iirc

Worst opening loss in my lifetime for LSU was probably 2002 against Virginia Tech or Wisconsin in Miles' last season. well damn thats the only two opening game losses we have had since I have been watching.

Best opening win in my lifetime, probably Oregon 2011 or Mississippi state 2007.

Best was probably Spurrier's first game at UF at home vs Okie State. It was a bloodletting and everyone was thinking, "This is different."
We got the ball first and it was 3 pass plays and TD. Bang bang bang. Everyone just kind of looked at each other.
Final score 50-7.

Worse opening loss was probably Miami 2013. No way should we have lost that game. Clearly the better team, so that was pretty aggravating.
