I literally calculated them all this morning. Troll.

Sorted rosters by star rating, counted them, and divided them by active scholorships

Interesting. I've had a feeling for a while that tomorrow's game will be much closer than people are thinking. This only reinforces that feeling.

Agreed. Da U comes in with a chip on the proverbial shoulder. Might not be enough tho.

They've done a great job of developing a couple of diamonds in the rough and really getting the most out of their blue-chips.

However, I believe they'll be dealing with depth issues this year that a couple of key injuries could really exacerbate. Drop one or two on each line and they could be in trouble.

The 2016 roster is what Clemson won the NC with.Less than 50% Blue Chips.(39 out of 79 scholarship athletes)

3. Tennessee - 42%

7. Vandy - 6%

I will say this... Vandy at least has had continuity at the coaching position and the opportunity to recruit, bring in and develop players within a scheme. Derek Mason is not a bad coach tbh, he does decently to keep Vandy at or near bowl eligibility considering the level at which they’re overmatched talentwise.

UT on the other hand has had 4 OC’s in as many years, and 3 DC’s in the same time. We’ve had to switch to completely different schemes on both sides of the ball, so a lot of Butch’s leftovers don’t exactly mesh in Pruitt’s system. Not to mention that Butch’s talent development and in-game utilization of players was piss poor. Most of the upperclassmen Pruitt inherited were underdeveloped and he himself admitted they basically had to be taught like freshmen.

I’m not trying to absolve or excuse that we’ve lost to Vandy 3x in a row. One single loss to them is embarrassing, three is just ridiculous. Almost every Vol fan (myself included) goes into each year expecting to beat Vandy and Kentucky, regardless of circumstance. If we ever want to amount to anything again as a football program, we have to go back to annually kicking their asses as usual. I’m only pointing out that there is more than meets the eye when it comes to some of these percentages.

That’s exactly the point. The turmoil of the program has been embarrassing and should never have gotten to the point it has if decent hires were made. Tennessee has made 3 poor hires in a row, leading to extremely underwhelming seasons for a decade given the amount of talent the program is able to accumulate. Bad coaching and coaching turnover is not an excuse. It is the problem.

Exactly. Our 42% might as well have been 10% considering the lack of competent coaching and subsequent mass turnover.

So, what you’re saying is, is that GA does less with more?

You saying Odom and The guy at Vandy are better coaches than what Tennessee has had?

They lost their 2 best offensive linemen to the draft.

More importantly they lost to the NFL 2 5* and 2 4* D-Linemen that comprised what may be the best unit in CFB history (3 of that line went in the first 17 picks).

Talent matters more than anything else in CFB. Nobody could just replace that kind of production, and Clemson hasn't recruited as well as many others. People thinking this is just going to be plug and play situation are delusional.

I just find the BCR and the annual adjustments to it fascinating. I’ll really be focusing on Ohio State this year because of it as well. Things could get ugly for Day quick following CUM and the BCR he’s inherited.

You can find us in late December/early January winning Big 6 bowls or in the playoffs, like every other year

When you run a statical analysis, you typically want to remove the extreme conditions and mimic IRL results. Starters, maybe two deep would represent what teams are putting on the field. Clemson for example doesn't take big classes every year. This would also illustrate what % of 4 and 5 star players actually play vs the 3* and below (which is the majority).

It always seems like Tennessee doesn’t win 42% of their sec games.

Too early to tell with Pruitt. But both are better head coaches than Lyle.

I think he was just providing numbers.

And the numbers are saying the gap is getting wider. . .
