You are going to lose the bet. But I like that you take a stand for your team.

If I’m wrong, I’m wrong. I just like the offense this year and I think it can be pretty special.

But Georgia cannot do the same?

I like LSU. I cheer when they get 1st downs vs Bama

I wonder why they mysteriously keep ignoring the fact that Kirby doesn't have a winning record against teams that finished ranked.
Ignoring the obvious for a moment... Is this the new variation on "Kirby's record against the West" now that I've destroyed the myth that Dan Mullen was somehow impressive in his efforts in the West?
Let's take a look at the numbers?
09 - 1-4 against teams finishing ranked
10 - 0-4
11 - 0-5
12 - 0-4
13 - 0-6
14 - 1-3
15 - 0-3
16 - 0-3
17 - 1-3
18 - 2-2
So in Mullen's entire career, he's amounted to 5 wins against ranked teams... out of 42 attempts... for a solid 11.9% win percentage against teams finishing ranked.
Kirby in 3 years...
16 - 1-2
17 - 4-2
18 - 2-3
7 out of 14 for .500 against teams finishing ranked. I'll let you figure out how many coaches can say they've managed that in their first 3 seasons in the SEC as a head coach while playing in 2 conference championship games and a CFP and National Championship game appearance...

You can not compare the talent Mullen had to work with at State vs what Kirby has at UGA.
Miss State is a program that’s historically never done anything.
In his first year at UF, Mullen went 2-2.

Schedule wise? Yes of course!
Florida plays LSU every year, Missouri plays Arkansas.
I'd argue UF has a higher ceiling than Missouri, but we'll see what happens.
I'm less worried about Mizzou with Bryant than I was with Lock, but... I could be wrong.
Schedule definitely plays a part on it yes.
We were the only team that was close to physically on par with Georgia last year from the East.
We return 3 NFL players on our OL and a 1200 yard back. Add The KB dynamic to that and we will once again be strong in the trenches.
Georgia is clearly the heavy favorite but if a team will knock them off it will be Mizzou and not Florida IMO

This is true. UGA has made mizzou 1 dimensional the past 2 seasons and that has been enough for our offense to pull away decent wins.
But the mobile QB is a wrinkle that could open up some cracks and make it tougher for limit Mizzou as a 1 dimensional offense.
They have a punchers chance. A turnover. Special teams play. And the 2 score game is now a footrace in the 4th.

Also hàve the best TE in the conference. Not sure about the WR group and I know your secondary was vulnerable last year.
You also catch us after UF and before AU and also have an off week.
Glad the game is at home and I think it's going to be the difference.

Ok.. you can ignore context but I can't. Seems appropriate.
In his first year at UF, he was in his 10th season as a head coach... seems completely reasonable to compare to a first year HC. And even still, Smart went 1-2 against teams finishing ranked in the regular season (Just like Mullen), and won his bowl game... he just wasn't lucky enough to get paired up with a team that finished ranked but had a defense that gave up 62 points in the previous game... We can't all be so lucky.

By all accounts of your posters, so is UGA... it's 1980 and then a whole dismal program history of nothing else.

You guys like numbers right? So calculate the talent level on average of a Miss State team under Mullen (you can even do his best team in 2014) to the talent Kirby has.
Context provided by your fellow poster in this thread literally was “Dan Mullen has never had his team in a big game in over a decade of being a head coach.”
Mullen for the most part has worked at a severe talent disadvantage compared to Kirby, and to Kirby’s credit, he’s a much better recruiter - anyone disputing otherwise is an idiot.
All I’m saying it’s apples to oranges - two completely different situations.

Sure, there are always exceptions to the rule, but recruiting rankings tend to be fairly accurate when analyzing on a macro level. Higher stars tend to out perform lower stars, especially when well coached. Talent matters.

With a blowout loss to an unranked team.
You talk up your DL, yet ignore they were so low in rush D.
You talk up better skill talent, yet ignore UGA has higher skill talent per the recruiting services.
You hope your OL can be adequate, yet ignore the shape of UGA's OL.
You hope Franks can improve in SEC play, yet ignore how good Fromm has been.
You do have 2 NFL CB's, but I wouldnt be shocked if UGA had some on our roster too.
What about safeties and LB's?

UGA fan brought up Bama. Georgia's best teams have not been able to beat them. Thus, still no national championship. As has been said, Kirby loses the big games, just like Richt. You can deny it all you want, but it's true. You lost to LSU, Bama, and Texas.
Nobody here is talking about LSU. No one is saying anything about LSU. But I will.
You've lost seven straight to Bama and only two of those games were decided by seven or less.
Three of the last four times UGA has played Bama have gone down to the wire. Get your licks in while you can.

And that's fine... That response was originally to someone who likes to ignore all context in order to try and make a point... one that was weak to begin with. It's not like Kirby has some atrocious record against teams that finish ranked... he's .500 over 3 seasons.
Mullen isn't remotely *close* to .500 over 10... He did manage .500 in year 1 at UF... in his TENTH season as a head coach.
So comparing Smart as a 1st year HC to Mullen as a 10th year HC seems pretty damn apples to oranges, no?
UF Fans are quick to dismiss Mullen's 9 year track record and inability to dramatically improve the roster at Miss St as a recruiter as problematic to Miss St... I'll be interested to see if that perspective changes over the next couple of recruiting cycles at all if he doesn't 1) land better classes and 2) manage to get all of the signees onto campus...

UGA is a tier above the East. UK and Mizzou are on the same tier with the rest. Finisher for no. 2 being a toss up.
UF on paper should challenge UGA somewhat, but Mullen has negative vibes which is hard to turnaround.
