Spoke with my UNC buddy tonight. He is upbeat and hopeful but I think pretty realistic.
...it's quite chilling for most targoats to have to rationalize their football team is 5-12 against USC over that past 52 seasons.
...winless against an SEC breed of Gamecock - and 2-7 vs Carolina since Reagan was shot.

No doubt, tarholios, (and I call him that when we talk which drives him nuts) are a hubristic bunch. Biggest hypocrites in the world. They incessantly complain that we are cheating to take players out of NC yet deny their own documented cheating in the process while feeling entitled to all of our HS basketball talent down here.
I can already see the texts I'll be getting from him once the game starts. Never fails. "We suck. This is pathetic. We're a basketball school."
They really do drink the koolaid up there every preseason though.
BTW he told me they sold out all of their allotted tickets .... but I'm hearing differently. Heard they only sold a little over 10k and BoA and Belk got the rest of them back for distribution which are basically being bought up by our fans so we should outnumber them by quite a bit although it is not going to be a sellout.
Phil Longo, the UNC OC, replaced Werner at Ole Miss and they evidently know each other pretty well. He was at Sam Houston State before going to Ole Miss. Longo runs what he calls an "Air Raid offense" so we should expect them to try to sling it around quite a bit. Look for UNC to incorporate bubble screens, RPO rushes, and double post routes into their offense, something that our fans should be used to seeing by now.

That’s better than my UNC grad buddies
I work/worked with 2 of them and they don’t really care
Trying to sir then up is boring
But they’ve been talking about Cole Anthony like he’s the next Damian Lillard
I get more smack out of ECU fans when we play them
Must be a generational thing since they’ve sucked for so long

Yeah, I've got a UNC colleague who just so happens to be moving down to Charlotte the Friday before the game so I'm going down there. He only moderately seems interested in the game and is more concerned with just having a good time with his buddies from both sides of the border. He may or may not go to the game if he scalps cheap tickets. Luckily he'll has plenty of real Carolina friends that will be there too.

Yea you’re around my age i think or a couple years older?
They’ve sucked for so long my buddies from HS that went to UNC or these two work guys I know are only really into basketball.
They’re all good sports and pretty much just know we are going to beat them considering how much we’ve beaten them the last couple years
NC state fans are little more confident when we played them, ECU fans the #1, they’re bunch of delusional morons

ECU does have the cool pirate graphic, though. I'll give them that much.

ECU to me are the morons in HS that were taking all the classes a year below you.
For example, when you start your freshman year of HS with geometry, they’re still taking algebra.
They wear cargo shorts and white sunglasses then leave ECU and spend a year or 2 in Greenville being a bartender before they start their career working at Insight Global as an “IT recruiter”

Just for fun, as you can see Im doing Blue Chip Ratios and posted a thread on the main board.
SC - 32%
UNC - 18%

I hate unc. My nephew married into a unc family and they are obnoxious!
This hasn't been discussed but there is a storm that is forming that could effect us in 5 to 7 days. We should know more by sunday evening. I would think rain would help us, due to our ol going against their dl, what do y'all think and has anyone else been monitoring this storm?

I was in Chapel Hill for our game in 2007 and the stadium was at least 50% Gamecocks. We didn’t get our tickets through the Gamecock Club and we ended up with some pretty good seats but were surrounded by UNC fans. The UNC guy sitting in front of me was dressed like he was competing for Preppiest Male and kept commenting to his wife, “The stadium is really loud today”.

I was in HS for that game.
I went too.
The night before was late night with Roy.
No one cared about the football game
Although don’t get the preppy jab. Is that a bad thing ?

Preppy as in 1980’s Ivy League look.

I enjoyed that but I will add that we've had so many players downgraded over the years while Georgia, Bama, Florida and even Clemson see theirs upgraded .... that it skews the final results IMHO.
Blue Chip is 4* and above right?
We have three 3*s right now that should be 4*s in this class and I can think of a half dozen on our roster that should have been four stars when they signed.

I agree and due to that, I think the highest we would be is in the 40percent range, so we are doin pretty good.
Having a lower BCR and beating someone with a higher one is more fun though, as we can say things like "well we have better coaching" or "sorry you guys have a trash culture" and it really grinds peoples gears
Kentucky having 16 percent last year and doing so well makes Stoops look like a genius. So I'm ok with where we are knowing full well we are in striking distance of most teams.

I mean he kinda is though no?
Guy has had 2 first round draft picks.
2! From Kentucky.
And these were not blue chip recruits

Stoops has found a recruiting niche. He gets some gems that Michigan and Ohio pass over. Benny Snell lived a few miles from OSU stadium and grew up a Buckeye fan. They never offered. He got Josh Allen out of NJ. The problem Stoops will have is consistently getting enough of these types of guys. Just remember before last season, he was on the hot hot seat. Curious to see if he weathered the storm or just delayed the inevitable.

I was there. First half was a ton of fun. We almost completely blew it in the second half. The UNC fans were hilarious because they were so tame.

That second half began the downfall of our season

Eh, the last three years they've downgraded some of our main players so that OSU and Bama can keep fighting it out for #1. Stampini seems to be the main reason. He thinks high school football in Georgia is overrated.
