None of the backs have a 50+ yarder
Jase - 29
Williams - 48
Jam - 45
Haynes - 33

Simpson's should have been 79

What's the word on the health of Jase McClellan?

addition to the guys graduating and/or heading to the NFL, they also have 14 guys in the portal so far.
So even if they aren't losing 1s, they're, at a minimum, losing a bit of experience/depth.

I like the experience and grit that McClellan and Williams bring to the team... but a small part of me is hoping they don't decide to come back next year. I think if Miller, Haynes, and Young develop in the offseason like they should... they all have way more potential (a higher ceiling). I would hate to see any of them transfer because of McClellan or Williams returning.
Go ahead. Call me dumb

And just to further, he said he would be returning "for his senior season." Which was interesting since eligibility-wise he's only a sophomore, suggesting he probably sees next year as his last. He is graduating this month.

You're not dumb. I think most people view Miller and Haynes as more explosive runners. I think the reality is that there is more to being on the field than just running, and the coaches trust those older guys to consistently be in the right places in all areas. That's the separator. I'd have to think that by next year those younger guys will be better in that respect.

I believe this will be the case. And if you look at the 'investment': I think it would be better to have Miller / Haynes / Young, with their higher ceiling, for multiple years... instead of getting McClellan and Williams back for one more year and having any of the other three transfer.

May depend more on how much NIL money they may be getting. Neither is going to be high in the draft. They may earn more by returning. Isn't NIL wonderful.

I just wonder how much another year in school actually raises their respective draft stocks. They've both torn ACLs in the past, and if returning wouldn't significantly boost their draft stock, I'd probably head to the NFL to avoid the injury risk associated with another full season at the college level.

Meant the health of McClellan for the Michigan game.

Just dropping in to say I hope you guys win it all.

I love the fact he went ahead and made it official.

I don't think it would raise their stock. But might make more staying in school than money they would make declaring.

I don't think they are those kinds of players. I think both could make an NFL team as potentially a third RB or possibly even a backup, though.
