We promise there's a Gamecock in there somewhere. South Carolina is currently saddled under a long-term deal with Under Armour, so this Nike look is only a dream. Tailfeathers adorn the should sleeves while the University's interlocking SC baseball logo is featured on the neck. Many have wondered why the Gamecocks don't incorporate this fresh design into more football-related apparel. As you can see, it looks great of a jersey. It's probably best however that we keep South Carolina's black alternate in its current matte form rather than gloss.

Auburn Tigers

Fans have been craving more orange for years on the Plains, whether that's in the form of a home alternate jersey, subtle additions to gameday pants or going full circle with an orange alternate Tiger-stripe helmet much like this. It's too bright of a color to simply use it in a secondary sense, like the program has done for decades, don't you agree? Auburn's current white lid screams tradition, but a flashy orange option would turn the rest of the SEC West on its axis to make ground in the on-field apparel game. But chances the Tigers make such a drastic move are slim.

Georgia Bulldogs

We're digging this all-red looks for the Bulldogs, complete with silver and black trim and what appears to be a sleek-finished helmet. Several years ago, Georgia donned a Nike Pro Combat alternate inside the Georgia Dome against Boise State, a too-busy look that's been forever buried. The Bulldogs have brought back black alternate jerseys that are worn once a year. Players and fans love them, but older alumni and the traditional brass would prefer the red and silver look, always. One game a season in all-red would suffice, especially if Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs can start a winning streak in them.

One of the early adopters of chrome alternate helmet options, the Wildcats have done a great job staying ahead of what's trending in college football's uniform race, but a different spin on their current chrome lid would be even better. Here's what a chrome-blue fade design would look like with the program's new-and-improved Wildcat secondary decal. Perhaps this could even be sublimated on the helmet to give it a more sleek and glossy appearance. Credit to Mark Stoops for keeping Kentucky at the forefront of what's hot in terms of apparel despite being saddled by mediocrity relative to national exposure.

Florida Gators

One of our personal faves from Next Gen Uniforms is this new look for Florida. Anything is better than those hideous, swamp green monstrosities Nike put together two years ago and we believe the blue helmet and stylized logo completes this combination. During the Tim Tebow era, the Gators loved wearing all-blue at home with an orange helmet, but we don't see that uniform combination as much these days. A blue helmet could bring it back with energy in Gainesville and we know Dan Mullen will be up for anything during the Brand Jordan era.

Tennessee Volunteers

Second-year coach Jeremy Pruitt is about as traditional as they come in terms of uniform options, so don't expect to ever see something like this in Knoxville under his watch. He has already nixed Tennessee's smokey grey option and says the Vols will keep their recognizable white helmets with the Block T for the foreseeable future. We'll probably see all-orange once or twice, but nothing out of the ordinary. Under Pruitt, Tennessee will move back to its original on-field look from its heyday before the turn of the century.

Since the Crimson Tide have shown zero interest in wearing an alternate uniform combination, perhaps a one-game futuristic helmet would pass in Tuscaloosa in a game against a low-level FCS squad? Here's a houndstooth iteration with the Crimson Tide's familiar script 'A' as the centerpiece. Maybe adding 3M to the houndstooth detailing would spice it up a bit, especially when TV cameras and stadium light fixtures reflect off the lids during a night game. During recent College Football Playoff appearances, Alabama has donned jeweled swooshes on their jerseys, like other participants.
