I'm going to be pulling for Auburn, but I'm not sure they'll win this one. It has a lot to do with Oregon returning their qb and not Auburn. Auburn defense should be legit, but Oregon has a legit offense. Oregon's defense probably will be average, but Auburn will struggle to keep up imo.
34-24 Oregon

I blame Stidham, maybe 20%, for the lack of function Auburn's offense had with him. Perfect QB? Nah, but the kid can play.
If you give him a clean pocket. Stidham's problem is in his pants. He has an NFL talent arm, but he can't handle pressure in any way whatsoever. His field vision lacks also.

Both of AU’s QB’s appear to operate substantially better under pressure than Stidham.

Auburn defense should be legit, but Oregon has a legit offense.
Granted, they've got a solid returning starter at QB and two talented Soph RBs, but 40% of their offensive TDs and 44% of their total yards came in three games against teams that were a combined 3-21 against FBS opposition. Against the decent defenses on their schedule, they looked very average (or worse).
I just don't see them scoring a lot of points against our defense, unless our inexperience at QB results in a lot of turnovers in our territory. Which admittedly is a possibility.

You people predicting Oregon to win big are either trolling or don’t watch much football. It may be close early, but Auburn will out muscle and dominate Oregon the majority of the game.
Auburn 38 - Oregon 13
Auburn 38 - Oregon 13

Gus is 5-1 in openers, he won't lose to the ducks.
Auburn's defense will smother the Ducks offense and pressure that QB all day. Then with a much improved oline, "Gus will be Gus", he will run the ball all over the Duck defense and mix in a few safe passes for balance. He won't take any high risk chances with a green QB away from home by passing too much. Auburn will wear them down in the 4th and then eat clock and win by 10 pts.

It'll be an interesting matchup with our DL vs their OL. We should have a top 5 DL in the country, if not the best, but Oregon's OL is supposed to be really good as well

So yeah, I don't think we'll be intimidated by the Mighty Ducks, no matter who our QB is.

I expect all or most of the ducks points to be in the 1st half. At which point Auburn takes over. We see it every year in some form or fashion.

Tega graded out as one of the best run blocking tackles in the entire country last year. The grad transfer Driscoll also graded out as one of the top OL in any conference as well

Oregon fan here. I will try to give the good and the bad.
1) Oregon is very experienced in the trenches. There are 150+ starts, three consensus draft pick on the OL and 6 seniors. The DL has 5 seniors. On the DL Faoliu and Baker were the 3rd best run stopping combo at DE by PFF. The front 7 as a whole is the best in some time for Oregon. The edge is great and the middle good.
2) The offense tended to stall out. Three playcallers in three years and really green skill players all had their part. Is it a trend or growing pains is yet to be determined.
3) The athletic profile of Auburn as a team is a grade above. Cristobal is getting them there but It’s not quite there yet. Last year only 29 players were squatting 500 and 50+ are now. Strength and conditioning really eroded under Helfrich it’s finally turned around.
4) Herbert can be a basket case. That’s why he returned. He’s a perfectionist that can’t let go. He’s going to have to be able to shake it off in this one.
Overall it being a first game and all, I say low scoring. I think this is Auburn 27-24.

Is the analysis because SEC or due to something schematically or some advantage vs disadvantage with the personnel between the two teams?

Think of it this way: in last season's opener, UDub had a four-year starter at QB, a SR RB who finished his career with 1000 more yards and twice as many TDs as the previous school record holder, the PAC-12's best returning OL anchored by a future first-rounder at LT, and a defense that returned 9 starters from a unit that finished 1st in the conference and 5th in the nation in scoring defense, led by one of the best HCs in the business.
We did alright against that formidable squad (which ended up winning the PAC-12 Championship), simply because our guys were bigger, stronger and faster than theirs. . We should do alright against y'all as well, for similar reasons.
