I don't know anything about Tommy Stevens but when Trace McSwoley went out in the bowl game for two series they didn't put Tommy Stevens in. Might have been injured or maybe he didn't travel? I dunno.

Stevens rarely ever threw the ball at PSU, he had 11 passes last season as a redshirt junior,

He was injured.... missed most of the season.

From what I've read up

You didn't read up..... nor down. Side to side either.

the knock on him is accuracy as well.

Per Franklin:

"natural feel for space, for depth, for width like a point guard. ... a natural feel to find open guys on the field. "Right now, Tommy's got a really good feel for finding open receivers and throwing for a high percentage ... "

Per Scout report:

Good athlete with a nice frame and the room to grow and add more weight and bulk. Very good athlete who can run the zone read and make a lot of things happen with his feet. Shows the ability to throw on the move and also has good touch on his deep ball

He doesn't have an accuracy problem

Moorhead is terrible. He had MSU’s best roster ever last year.

Really? I didn't realize Moorhead had his players in the system. Mullen let him recruit all these years?

Can’t ask for more than that from a transfer.

Dang it.

When he's throwing 53% next season, I'm sure you'll still feel the same

So he's basically a perfect QB, 5th year senior, strong arm, highly accurate, great athlete, runs like Tebow...

But he couldn't beat out a couple young guys at PSU

And he knows the Moorhead system.

The main issue here last year is the team Mullen built was a spread run first. He never needed a QB to throw it deep.

You rarely saw that from a Mullen QB. Mullen did not really run an RPO either. The differences in what Moorhead runs and Mullen is day and night.

You can fault Moorhead for not adjusting back to the Mullen playbook, but that's not what he runs.

This season Moorhead will have another great defense (top 10... yes... you heard that right) and he needs a QB who can pass to make that team better. Without it, MS ST may not make a bowl.

Nope. I wasn't convinced that Mullen's run option game was really about an option. If you were around and watched Chris Relf, it didn't look like anything other than QB sweeps. Still effective though

They won't beat us, with or with out him. They will beat you by 2 tds with him.

Runs better than Tebow. Is he perfect? nope. Is he a major upgrade? Yep. Now maybe Moorhead can find another MUCH needed wr

Wrong. he was behind the starter since being a freshman. He was so talented they figured out way to get him in the game!

They mishandled his injury and it cost him. It was Franklin's staff that caused him to not be healed by spring. Then Franklin would not name him starter (did the same to McSorely) and the Kid did not want to chance it.

Again... with him and Hill and KT in the game... They will beat you by 2 tds

The Run Pass Option (RPO) was not Mullen at all. He ran a RO and schemed some passes from fakes.

A.k.A he knew he was getting beat out

The fact he had been there 4 years and they still wouldnt name him starter should tell it all for yoy.

AKA no... AKA, they mishandled his injury and due to that injury still played him thus putting off his surgery... which meant playing spring recovering...

Not many players are willing to enter a game when the starter is out and played injured.... NOT MANY COACHES WOULD PLAY a kid injured like Franklin did.

Nah. What it tells me is Franklin was being Franklin. He did the same thing when it was McSorely vs Stevens in 2016. He refused to name one a starter. That's when Stevens was a freshman and almost beat out McSorely.

Like I stated, you didn't read. Not Up, not down nor side to side.
