Auburn's desperation to drop the Iron Bowl has reached the point of enlisting Mizzou fans.

Sad really.

You are confusing the meaning of "natural rival".

No. If I was going off of a geographic sense for rivalries, UK would be rivals with mizzou and Vanderbilt in addition to Tennessee. They are not. UK's only rival really in the SEC is UT, because there is hatred there.

I will admit I was not around prior to the SEC
championship game and divisions becoming a thing. As such, I haven't heard much about an Auburn UF rivalry, and it makes me view Auburn as not fitting in the East as much as the teams that are already there and have been for decades

I will say, Auburn would fit in more than any other west team, but I still don't see it.

Does Bama drop UT or Auburn as their perm East rival? Seems to be the primary issue of this topic.

The Alabama vs Auburn rivalry has gotten so bitter, I think it would be good to make it a regular rotation game. The teams didn't play for nearly 40 years, or however long it was, and both programs survived it.

That said, I doubt it will happen.

Auburn's natural rivals are bama, UGA, UT, UF

Florida is 5 hours away, played 83 times
UT is 4 hours 40 minutes away, played 53 times

Miss State is 4 hours 5 minutes, played 92 times
Ole Miss is 4 hours 50 minutes, played 42 times

I don't see what the big deal is here.

The TSIO is a much older rivalry than Auburn and there has always been more hatred for 10RC than Auburn.

Tennessee hasn't been competitive with bama in years. They have essentially became their annual homecoming cupcake.

Honestly, I wish the SEC would drop divisions and do the same thing that the Big 12 is doing and playing the top 2 schools with the top record.

Send Missouri to the west. I fully endorse their PAC 12 application. Might even get a fair trade for one of the Arizona teams.

I think that’d be great.
Also, I’m all for seeing the two Tennessee schools split into West/East, along with the two Mississippi schools.
If geography is an issue, change the division names to something non-location related.

Bama and Tennessee is only a rivalry if they both wear home uniforms. Nick Saban refuses to let both wear home uniforms therefore it is no longer a rivalry.

There are older VOLS who hate Auburn as much as they do Bama.

The problem is as much balance as it is preserving TSIO, the Iron Bowl or in other configurations DSOR.
meh, that move would make the divisions more fairly balanced

But the real answer is pods, everyone gets 3 or 4 perm rivals and rotate the rest

Best 2 records play for the ship
