There is also Florida. The missing piece for the east and the reason everyone says "we're down" is Tennessee. If Tennessee gets anything going (something Lyle came close to achieving), then there are 3 powers in the East. Then you have to have 4 in one if A&M ever becomes relevant. Makes much more sense to leave that possible east/west power to where they belong. For Auburn that's the West

Just quit calling it east and west.

Reseed the teams every decade.

Have the Saban division and the Bear Bryant division.

So the teams would be ranked 1 though 14 by conference record after 2021.

1,3,5,7,9,11,13
2, 4,6,8,10,12,14

Would be the divisions for 10 years.

It has been 10 years since UF was a legit chance to win the SEC championship. We gonna give programs a decade to get their shite together? Nevermind the west to killing each other.

The reason it will never happen is because the Auburn-Georgia and the Alabama-Tennessee football games that are such a tradition cannot be ended. Even the permanent opponent thing wouldn’t fix that. Oh lord unless they do 2 permanent opponents.

I’d hate to lose Auburn to the Easy, but if they get replaced with another auto win like Mizzou I guess I’m cool with it

Both AU and UA would insist that the IB continues. It is not only good for the State, it is good for the SEC and CF.

East had a winning record against the west, due in large part to Florida. I don't think you can argue that UF isn't a legitimate threat just because they haven't won the SEC in a decade.

Did you forget Tennessee also beat Auburn last season?

I forgot, and they think they're such a heavy hitter they should get to move

Your rivals are Bama and Georgia. UT and UF are not.

You must not be very old. You obviously know nothing about the SEC pre-expansion.

The SEC needs to maximize the strength of their football schools and honorable mention to A&M and balance out the divisions. Move Auburn to the East and send Tennessee to the west. It’s only fair.

Preexpansion I'm sure they would've been considered rivals, but can you really consider them such now as compared to LSU whom you play every year?
The move doesn't make sense to me. The divisions are fine

ask the next Auburn fan you see who is a more natural rival.....LSU, UT, or UF.

As I stated.......bama, UGA, UT, and UF are Auburn's four natural rivalries.

LSU has been forced. We have played Ole Miss and State for many years. Those are SEC game, not natural rivals.

I do not consider Auburn a rival personally.

Rivalries are balanced. Outcomes are toss ups. LSU has dominated the series (9 of the last 12). The only real rivalry factor would be sharing a division and mascot.

Which again, LSU has a live tiger. Auburn has a dove or something. Idk. Just my two cents.

Would a UT fan identify Auburn as a rival over Florida, Bama, Georgia, or even UK or Vanderbilt?
Would Florida identify Auburn over Georgia or UT as a rival?
Doubt it.
Auburn doesn't belong in the East, and Mizzou is having a hard enough time fitting in as it is

If it happens the conference would move to 9 conference games along with it.

every UF fan I know, and I live in UF country, considers the Auburn/UF rivalry at the top of their list. Like me, they wish it was played every year.

You are confusing the meaning of "natural rival". Alabama's borders touch these states. Using your rational, every SEC school is a "natural rival" which is just not the case.
