We saw how gassed LSU was against TAMU last year so this might help them. Starting with the 5th overtime it will be alternating two point conversions instead of new drives starting at the 25 if this passes.

Limit to two OTs. Make a coach take more risks rather than sitting back and waiting for the other team to fall apart from exhaustion

Make OT start at the 40 instead of the 25

This is the obvious answer. I have no idea why they will entertain alternating 2-point conversions and not this.

A team should have to get at least 1 first down to get in legitimately scoring range. However, you aren't making them drive the whole field.

Make a rule saying the refs can't cheat us.

I think they should move the ball back to the 40 or 50 in OT. That would shorten these OT games a lot by forcing teams to actually make plays to get in FG range and not be there the moment they get the ball.

This, they need to start far enough back that they need to make at least 1 first down before they are in a legitimate makeable field goal range. (45 yards) So start on at least the 40, maybe even the 45.

Or start on 25 and no field goals allowed after first possession. No XPs either have to go for 2pts.

I don't care what anyone says, you can't have ties. Once you get into the 4th, 5th, 6th overtime I don't care what they do to resolve the tie, but you can't tie.

Why? A tie probably hurts one team a lot more than the other. So make that team go for the win.

That LSU-A&M game was fun, stop trying to ruin fun. It's not a major problem, you get a historic game like that every 5 years or so.

It's hard for me to craft my argument about moving back to the 40 because I want to say "make teams get into scoring range" but then I realize that my team is not at all in scoring range at the 25 yard line.

I kind of agree - it's like the whole "start a guy on 2nd base in extra innings" thing because of 5 MLB games out of 4,500 in a season. Those games happen 0.01% of all games. They're quirky and fun. If they happened every other game, yea it'd be a problem. They don't.

That LSU game was NOT fun.

It should have never happened and should have been over numerous times before the 80th OT.

That game infuriates me second only the the Bama rematch----that should have never happened either. And I have been watching college football since the 70's.

They could do it shoot-out style. Each team gets to run 5 two-point conversion plays to see how many touchdowns they get.

I can see both sides. You would prefer not to have games go as long as the LSU/A&M game if for no other reason than preventing injuries. But it was an anomaly and so many weird things had to happen for it to go on so long. I do't know why we can't have a tie either. I would say 3 OT's and you are done. Figure out the rules any way you want, but if you don't have a winner after that, it's a tie.

I don't care if it is a conference or national championship. You will have Co-champs. Not like it hasn't happened before.
