We should take a vote then. I don't believe you. Hockey has ties. Soccer has ties. I don't see them wailing about it.

If you can't beat someone after 4 quarters and 3 overtimes, I'm sorry pal, you didn't get it done. It was fun but we all have lives.

OK well not me, but some people I have been told.

Make OT start at the 40 instead of the 25
this would make too much sense

They're part of sport, part of competition.

Incentivize the favored or higher ranked team to go for the win. A lot of times OT is a choice by one of the teams, so encourage those teams to go for the win

Blind side blocks are awesome but it makes a ton of sense from a player safety standpoint

I agree. I like overtime just the way it is.

Play real football. Make it like an NFL OT.

The game itself is difficult to watch unless you were raised following it, which most of us weren't.
But Soccer does a lot of things right: The 3-1-0 point system is awesome at adding intrigue and strategy to a regular season title chase. And relegation is something I would love to see in US professional sports

This is the obvious answer. I have no idea why they will entertain alternating 2-point conversions and not this.

Because TV ratings climb exponentially with each new OT period as interested parties move to the edges of their seats and new viewers join the broadcast expecting to see another game and as word spreads on social media and normally uninterested viewers tune in from other outside markets.

Broadcasters are paid rates based upon viewers watching at the time the ad is pushed and to what specific market segment. It is not uncommon, if you have multiple Joey receivers in a house in separate rooms, to see different commercial ads pushed during commercial breaks to each TV set .... one ad pushing burgers or pizza in the Den while another is pushing Holister jeans in your teenage son’s room ... during the exact same broadcast,

Higher ratings in overtime can double a broadcaster’s rate depending upon the product and deal.

That LSU-A&M game was fun, stop trying to ruin fun. It's not a major problem, you get a historic game like that every 5 years or so.

No more Soccer Penalty Shootout jokes. That is about the same as 2 point conversion plays.

They have ties in the regular season but in the playoffs the have shoot outs.
I like starting at the 40 yard line. If you score a Td go for two. Then if in the second overtime move the ball back 5 yards to go for the extra point. You still have the kicker for field goals but not extra points.
