The current schedule is better. SEC ends the season with half of the marquee games almost every weekend, and every program benefits.
People pulling straws to come up with a reason other than Auburn acting like a buncha bitches. It's not like the current format doesn't provide an effective bye before Bama anyway.

It is absolutely about the bottom line and even season Novembers being ridiculously finically imbalanced compared to member institutions
Huh? So how come ticket sales/revenue was higher in '18 compared to '17?
quote:
Auburn collected $33,213,941 in ticket sales in 2018, up around $300,000 from the year prior. They collected $1,885,872 in direct institutional support from Auburn. It’s just the fourth year that AU has collected income from the university.
How in the world did this happen?

nothing to do with wins and loses.
quote:It has everything to do with wins/loses and we all know it. AU's schedule has been brutal. Their HC is averaging 5 losses a year and he's pulling a salary too high for AU to accept forking out that kind of cash. Their people want better, and now they have an AD that with some balls that will fight for his program and try to gain any advantage he thinks they need to get better results.
You really believe that?

I wonder how their donations and fund raising efforts have performed from '17 to '18?

I couldn't care less about a lot of football traditions that people revere, but this is different. UGA Auburn is played late in the year when it matters most.
Should we allow their AD to upend nearly a century of tradition because lately they can't make personnel decisions?
The answer is No.

Because there were 7 games plus revenue from the neutral site game vs only revenue from 7 home games, plus prices were increased

Well looks like our AD slapped your AD in the face with his BBC and your AD didn’t do anything to stop him.

I can understand why UGA wouldn’t bitch about the Division they are in . It is the only reason they have been relevant the last few season. Remember Kirby is 4-5 against the West.
Dick riding Bama and LSU is low for even an Aubie. We’d be golden if Auburn was the only team from the West that we had to play.

"AUBURN, Alabama — Auburn, Georgia and the SEC are nearing an agreement to move the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry to earlier in the 2020 season in an effort to alleviate scheduling burdens for both schools, industry sources tell Auburn Undercover.
The parties still have hurdles to overcome, but it is expected the 14 SEC schools and commissioner Greg Sankey will move forward to push the game to September or October, the sources said. The scheduling change would lift enormous weight from the Tigers' difficult November schedule, which was set to feature away games at both Georgia and Alabama in the final three weeks of the regular season."
Funny how they say it's a burden to both schools, but then ONLY talk about Auburn's. They know it's NEVER been a burden with UGA.
"The move marks a massive change for the rivalry. The game has been played in November each time the Tigers and Bulldogs met since 1937."
It's just a sad attempt by Auburn to NOT play their 2 biggest rivals so close in 81 years!

Auburn vs Georgia moving earlier in season starting in 2020
Auburn gives McGarity the deep dick once again. They fricked him once already by getting two home games in a row, have no intention of paying it back and they have McGarity doing their bidding again.
McGarity is a cuck and it's Georgia's own fault for sticking with him.
Actually the 2 years @ Aub. were the SEC's scheduling disaster adding TA&M & Mizz..
They WILL correct that with 2 @ UGA.

You REALLY think November tickets sales revenue was a deciding factor? C'mon...so go ahead and break up the Bama/UGA same year dilemma and be done with it.
Why move the game to earlier in the season?

If Auburn can work over UGA like this, maybe it's time to request that tWLOCP rotate between Jacksonville and Gainesville.
Athens & Gainesville.

I feel like they will do this deal and do two home games @ Athens around 2024.
Which is the soonest the SEC would allow that move to happen.
Chill out my Dawgs all will be well.

Everyone in the West feels this way. The East has been ACC lite since UM left.
Looks like AU will switch with UT on UGAs schedule. That can be a big Win-win for the league. Once UT gets decent again, it will now mean the East will not be the winner of the UGA-UF game every year. And UT will actually play someone after the "Third Saturday in October". I think it will change the dynamics of the East.

Its funny you believe that especially since the move of the DSOR from November pretty much proves they wont. The imbalance is because of the 2 years in a row from the 2012 expansion

Because of the Home/Away issue with Bama and UGA. Changing UGA to Sept or even better October frees up an opposite scheduled SEC team to put in place. This allows for a more even distribution of H/A games for Auburn in Sept/Oct/Nov.

It's as if fans of SEC teams don't understand how scheduling works.
When expansion occurred uga was moved to a home/home rotation to allow for the expansion changes...the SEC power brokers wanted to make sure Mizzou got bama year 1. Rightfully so we needed Mizzou to make the break from the Big 12 clean and Mizzou deserved the bama home game as a short term incentive.
WHAT???
Mizz.'s 1st SEC game was @ home against the Dawgs with a 41-20 butt kicking!
