Yep, 5-1 in the third game. Goodman went the distance for the win. She is developing nicely, getting better as the season progresses and seems to retain much of her strength in the later innings. On the other hand Cornell is good for three to four innings but then seems to lose a little power and batters start taking advantage of it. However I'm very pleased with our first three pitchers and think they will give us a good chance in postseason games. RTR

Huge sweep. Should have top 3 seed locked up. If they win the SEC Tournament, they might lock up the number one overall seed.

Good man from an ERA standpoint is our number 2 pitcher. Wouldn't be surprised if she replaces Cornell soon in the lineup. Her ERA is under 1.2 and Cornell is around 2

What an igit! Murphy has brought this team along well and they have developed well all season. He has done a fine job already and they’ve overachieved in some ways so far.

That guy is just a troll, but there are others in the fellowship, that will start complaining about how bad a coach he is as soon as the lose another game. Its like rats coming out at night.

We seem to get to the postseason and fizzle out almost every season. That's a legitimate criticism. Not sure why y'all are acting like it isn't.

We are the SEC champs already. The sec tournament means nothing for Alabama. Hopefully we dont get anyone hurt. All we heard in the preseason, was how we had not played a good team yet. Just wait until the sec schedule and see what happens. Always something else for the FOM.

Looks like bad weather in texas during the middle of the week. Tournament schedule could be really screwed up.

This. Nobody is bitching just to bitch. Murphy is great at getting to the post season. It’s when he gets there he seems to go full retard and we’ve had many a chance at more titles that have been squandered. High standard? You betcha. But Murphy set the bar himself. It’s frustrating to get that close every year and come up short.

Your wrong Phil. There's a couple of posters that just like to bitch. Its hilarious how they piggyback each other , from talking about fat players,(calling one a dump truck) hitting coach (murphy),clapping seal coaching first base, and Never actually discussing the good points of this team. 50-6. No one thought this team would be where its at. Its a good team that has youth. I dont think they are the favorite to win the national championship but they turned around last years rough season and if they make it to OKC then thats great with me. This team has a great future.

early in the season, the bitchers were all saying that all Murphy can coach is slap hitter. Cant win games 2-0 anymore and he wont recruit hitters. He is out of touch. Cant coach modern softball, etc. When they got to 30 & 0, its well wait until we get to the SEC and Murphy will screw it up. We haven't played a good team yet. Wait and see what happens in the SEC. Then 10 games in, well Murphy has ruined out best pitcher's arm by over use. Now I guess its, he has to win the NC or fire him.

Travis Reir mentioned how great of a deal Murphy has been for the UA AD. I looked around a bit and we are paying Murphy a fraction of what other top Softball programs are paying their coaches along with putting less towards our softball program than many of the best softball programs. The fact Murphy gets us to the post season so consistently is incredible.

I can't find a good link for college softball coach salaries. Could you provide one?
We definitely shouldn't be paying a fraction of what other programs pay, but I don't see this as a great argument for him. Would paying him more have gotten us more championships? Wouldn't that make our yearly fizzle worse?
