I like Baker and think he will be solid, but if he were to flip his commitment I don’t see that as much of a loss.

I think the 2021 class we hit WRs hard.

Would be shocked if Metchie doesn’t start over X.

I agree. I doubt Bama will push for Tucker.

I say use the scholarship on someone else. Not an issue with looking at the merchandise but doesn't mean there has to be a purchase.

What’s the earliest Malachi can come in now?

Assuming Ford won't be enrolled on a UA football scholarship for the current spring term, Malachi should be able to enroll now.

ETA: Per Charlie Potter (BOL) Malachi Moore will still enroll in May instead of Jan. I think I must've counted wrong before. Even without Ford, it appears that Moore enrolling early would put us at 86, one too many.

Alabama RB Najee Harris will return for his senior season (BamaOnLine)
quote:

Alabama will have its leading rusher for one more season. Junior running back  Najee Harris will pass on the 2020 NFL Draft and return to the Capstone for his senior year, a source close to the program confirmed to BOL. Harris is not expected to make an announcement on social media like his Crimson Tide teammates. The Antioch, Calif., native has been back in Tuscaloosa since this past weekend. . .

What Najee Harris returning means for Alabama in 2020 (BamaOnLine)

WR and OL are easily the 2 biggest areas that we need to target in the 2021 class. Probably need 3-4 WR's and 4-5 OL. I'm confident that the staff will be able to deliver, as they've hit homeruns the last 3 cycles where we've had a great position of need (2018-Secondary, 2019-DL, 2020-LB).

Seriously, I'm super excited about our next wave of WRs. I'd put our top 6 today versus anyone's.

Same. I think people complaining we missed on an elite receiver are sleeping on Jones-Bell.

Five-star OT sets visit to T-Town
(BamaOnLine | segment)
quote:

Tide OL target Amarius Mims (middle).

Alabama will host a big unofficial visit next weekend (Jan. 24) as 2021 five-star offensive tackle Amarius Mims is set to return to Tuscaloosa, his coach tells BOL. The visit comes at a pivotal point for the Cochran (Ga.) Bleckley County product. Long considered a Georgia lean, the departure of OL coach Sam Pittman has opened the door a bit for other programs.

"It affected it. It affected Georgia,” Mims told 247Sports recently of Pittman leaving UGA. “Everyone said Georgia was my leader, but when he left, it kind of took a hit. I would probably say the teams that stand out now are Alabama and LSU. (Georgia and Auburn) are right there with them. I would say Georgia is still in there with my top list, but when Coach Pittman left, it kind of took a little turn. And Alabama and LSU have stepped up."

This won't be Mims' first time at Bama either. "I have been there multiple times,” he said. “I have built a relationship with the coaches. I talk with the coaches a lot. It is uplifting talking to them, especially Coach Sal (Sunseri). I talk to him the most and every time we talk it is a great conversation. I feel like I could come in, do well, and play early there."

We should recruit Georgia like crazy every year. Seems like we should have more kids from there on our roster.

5* OT Amarius Mims 6-7/295 GA hudl

At 6-foot-7.5, 315 pounds, Mims is rated the No. 3 offensive tackle and the No. 13 overall player in the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Btw: The Recruiting Calendar Dead Period (no in-person contact) that began in mid-Dec ends Fri.

Elite is not the word I would use for Jones-Bell. He went to the all star game and did not stand out. He didnt look out of place but did not stand out. I think hes a good player but there are probably 10-15 receivers better than him this cycle. This is a deep year for WRs but i think hes probably just outside a top 100 player. So Elite is not the word I would use

Hopefully the inevitable Saban/Sunseri breakup can be put aside for a few more years.
