Now, as far as the secondary coach I have no idea. What are you guys hearing?
Not sure about Bama secondary but LSU folks are pitching a fit because their DB coach interviewed at Georgia

Well, hell, if he's looking around, give him a call. If L8U had anything going for them, it's a constantly solid secondary.

Kirby is in the market for a DC who'll learn and apply Kirby's schemes and also coach DBs. So it would be a promotion to his 1st DC gig.

It's definitely a move up, but don't say that to LSU fans. They're hot

Beast of a recruiter... if Tosh was going to go, wouldn't mind getting Raymond on board.

that would be fascinating... Chip Long and Sark as CO-OCs?
Sark as QBs Coach/Co-OC and Long as playcaller (please dear God) Co-OC
I would love Lance Taylor to come back, but I'm assuming he'd need some "skin in the game" so to speak to leave the NFL
Maybe a 3-way Co-OC situation

I think Butch might end up being the WR coach. God, help us

Yeah, here's what NFL.com had to say about Sark:
Sarkisian was under fire from the moment he took over for Kyle Shanahan in 2017 and didn't immediately replicate the latter's success. Despite the consternation about the offense, the Falcons still finished sixth in the NFL in yards per game (389.1) and 10th in scoring (25.9 per game) in 2018.
Sark can't be blamed for the plethora of fumbles in the red zone, which plagued the Falcons on a weekly basis, or the offensive line woes. His choppy, unbalanced play-calling and head-scratching red-zone calls, however, are questionable traits.

I actually wouldn't mind that...I'm not opposed to Butch
I wonder if Saban could coax Richt out of early retirement to coach defense

Sources: Steve Sarkisian turns down Cardinals to rejoin Alabama (ESPN)
quote:
The Arizona Cardinals offered Steve Sarkisian the offensive coordinator position, but he instead has agreed to return to Alabama to work on Nick Saban's staff, sources told ESPN's Dianna Russini on Saturday.
Sarkisian is expected to become the team's offensive coordinator, sources told ESPN's Chris Low. Former co-offensive coordinator Josh Gattis left the Tide recently for Michigan, and former quarterbacks coach and associate head coach Dan Enos, who reportedly was in line to be Alabama's offensive coordinator and playcaller next season, left Friday to become Miami's offensive coordinator.
Sarkisian was fired by the Atlanta Falcons following the regular season after a two-year run as their offensive coordinator.
Prior to joining Atlanta in February 2017, Sarkisian was an offensive analyst for the Crimson Tide. He took over as offensive coordinator for the team in the College Football Playoff title game after Lane Kiffin departed to become Florida Atlantic's head coach.
Sarkisian was previously the head coach at USC and Washington. Before joining the Falcons, his only NFL coaching experience came in 2004, when he was the Oakland Raiders' quarterbacks coach under then-head coach Norv Turner.

Anyone else worried that all these changes in the staff and yet another "one and done" OC could lead to the 2020 class looking like the 2018 class?
Posted on 1/12/19 at 11:08 pm to TizzyT4theUofA
I knew there was something off about that idea!

I don’t. A strong in-State class will carry 2020.

For the record, I know they were really bad, but I didn't remember how bad until I looked it up. The season before Kiffin came, the Raiders scored 12 total TDs. In SIXTEEN games. The best QB threw for 3 TDs and 13 INTs. The second best QB threw for 3 TDs and 8 INTs.
I'm surprised Al Davis found any sucker to take the HC job coming into that situation.

Enos shares why he picked Miami over other opportunities (247Sports)
quote:
Miami offensive coordinator Dan Enos has plenty of opportunities to coach in the same role at other programs.
Both Alabama and Georgia were interested in hiring Enos to fill their offensive coordinator job, but in the end he picked the UM program led by first time head coach Manny Diaz.
Enos explained why on the Sport Talk With Bo Mattingly show in Arkansas on Friday... (read more)

Is the Bama coaching turnover more of them looking elsewhere because NS has asked them to look after the goat self evaluated the disaster in the natty? Or is it something else. Now I am not talking about guys who got promoted like our former OC.
