The reality about Bruce Pearl

Ive said it over and over before Bruce is a great recruiter and hype man. When it comes to actually coaching Xs & Os, game planning, ect hes a low level CBB coach. Our team is full of seniors and juniors yet we continue to make some of the dumbest turnovers you will ever see. The offense is litterly fast break layup or 1on1 jack a 3.

I wouldn't call him low level, but it's definitely not his strength. He's still better than we deserve

I mean he’s said publicly that Okeke needs to be more aggressive and he’s MIA again. This team is soft.

Pearl may be the best basketball coach we have ever had.
And if you think this team plays dumb then you don't watch a lot of college basketball.

Oh well. I’ll live and die with Okoro, Okeke, and laissez faire coaching before I stump for our past. Bruce maybe just sweats a lot???

He took an undersized AU to the tourney and conference champs last year.

And without Pearl where would this program be right now? Who would we have even hired if not for Pearl's situation? After Barbee left this may have been the worst P5 job in the country. No sane coach with any other career options at all would have taken this job at that time.
Barbee only left Pearl with 5 scholarship players.
-KT Harrell who only had 1 season left
-Jordon Granger who was mediocre to average
-Tahj Shamsid-Deen who was healthy enough to play in probably 20 games
-Malcolm Canada who was a fricking joke who didn't even deserve a D1 scholarship. We have walk-one better and more talented than him now.
-Matthew Atewe who never played a single minute for Pearl
It's a miracle that Pearl was even able to field a team that first year, and he couldn't even talk to recruits until what, a few weeks before that season started?
You should be very very grateful for Pearl
