Yeah I remember that happening, seems like a pretty weak claim for relief under NCAA transfer rules. I never did understand why he signed with y'all in the first place. Yes, I know, sometimes a freshman can come in and replace the starter like Tua, but I didn't see that happening with Fromm. Kid is pretty damn solid.

Did UF go after him hard? Because I'll be honest, he would be scary there.

92.9 here in Atlanta just said if people knew the full story that it wouldn’t even be a question and they expect him to be eligible

You could throw a dart at the SECRant home page and what ever it landed on would be more credible than anything you'll ever hear on 92.9 regarding Georgia Football. And I'm not exaggerating.

Thanks. Been seeing all this other crap come up and wondered if there was anything to it.

Playing time, plain and simple. He's an uber-talented player, no doubt and I think he will do well at tOSU. When he was recruited, he said he was fine with redshirting and, had he done that, he'd have gotten good separation from Fromm and the team would have been his for at least two years.

Unfortunately, whether it was ego, or family, or people in general in his ear, telling him how great he was, he ended up not redshirting and ultimately being displeased with his playing time.

He is trying to use the "racial slur incident," wherein a former UGA baseball player yelled something to the effect of "put my n**** in the game," during a football game to get a hardship waiver and play immediately. UGA fans had no issue with him leaving, but him trying to get a waiver based on that BS is what has many irked.

His sister just enrolled at UGA, FWIW, so kinda hard to really buy that he felt he was in any sort of hostile environment.

From reading various article it looks like it is 'more' than just the racial incident. What exactly the other examples are we will find out eventually.

I'm sure we'd all love to hear, but I don't expect to hear anything that would warrant a "hardship waiver" being granted.

Seems odd they are trying to keep it a secret. If the 'other' stuff is so damning let it out there. Could just be BS. We will find out eventually.

You have to remember, the attorney his family hired is a hitman of sorts, known for framing things in such a manner as to win these waivers. I think all he's trying to do is build up a public perception of what happened versus telling us what actually did happen.

Right now there are no true "facts' about what his lawyers will argue, but that is the best we can guess. It does seem weak, though.

Fromm is solid and has good character. I'm glad we kept him, but I still think Fields will be good. I think most Georgia fans are just ready to get it behind us.

Yes... But he had pressure from his town to go to UGA. Plus when Matt Corral committed I think it pissed him off and soon after he let it be known he was going to UGA. But when Mullen came, he worked him some but he went after Emory Jones.

It was not just the PT but also the kind of reps he was allowed to get. There was nothing in his early play that suggests he shouldn't have been in to run a complete offense in blowouts, but his time was scaled back and his playbook was condensed. I can't remember another QB with is talent level who that happened to.

I think Chaney was coddling Fromm a bit because Fields' presence was affecting his play, and when the OC took a step away from Fields and alleviated the pressure on Fromm Jake's play improved.

Bottom line is this: if Fields believed he would get the development that would prepare him for the NFL at UGA he'd still be in Athens.

He didn't believe that. Now he's gone.
