“At first he said he didn’t know if he was going to walk or not,” Bennett’s father said. “I said, ‘I think you should; I think you deserve to. You’re graduating, and that’s what graduates do. They walk.’ So that’s what he’s going to do.” Bennett graduates in December with a degree in economics from UGA’s Terry College of Business. What he does beyond this season is another question. But Bennett has said repeatedly throughout the year that he simply loves football and wants to play “for as long as I can.” “He’s got a grown-man decision to make,” Bennett’s father said.
Graduated in December 2021. Currently in grad school.
I don't disagree. It obviously didn't hurt his play on the field and I don't remember him getting into any other trouble there. I just laugh when he gets brought up as an example of LSU's strict drug policy.

I would imagine after the backlash LSU faced during that whole ordeal that there were some changes made and based on the recent ex player's comment it appears so.. maybe a little too strict. One of the first things Kirby did when he got to Georgia was to relax that policy as it was way too strict under Richt and we are thankful he did lol
Jesus Christ, no shite!? I was replying back to the poster saying Tyrann wouldn’t have been kicked off at UGA.

Deflecting. Nice..

During one visit, Mathieu was asked how many drug tests he failed before he was suspended in college. According to an assistant coach for the team, Mathieu responded: "I quit counting at 10. I really don't know." The coach, who spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to comment about the evaluation, doesn't dump all of the blame on Mathieu. He points a finger at LSU. "If he flunked 10 tests before they suspended him, it shows that he got no kind of help,"

Now please tell us all about that super strict drug policy at LSU.

You think Matthieu gets booted from UGA?

Yes. He wouldn’t even have been give the chance to be a Heisman finalist.

The SEC schools' policies focus more on recreational drugs, with five of the 11 having stronger penalties for anything beyond marijuana. Georgia, Kentucky and Mississippi State are the only ones with suspensions for athletes' first positive test for marijuana, 10 percent of the season for each.

Both the University of Georgia and the University of Kentucky implement the following standard, which is among the nations strictest. Current Policies: First failed test- 10 percent of games (one game) Second failed test- 50 percent of games (six games) Third failed test- dismissal.

Alabama and LSU have had great success on the field. However, their policies against drugs are reprehensible. Both Universities should be ashamed of their drug policies and should put things into action immediately to change them. Current Policies: First failed test- None Second failed test- 15 percent of games (one game) Third failed test- One year Fourth failed test- Dismissal

And we all know Matthieu failed more than four tests

Mullen isn't worried about Kirby.

I’ve never laughed so hard.
He posted an Instagram story overnight listening to a song with the lyrics, “even though I dropped out of school.” It’s over. We’re done. :sarcasm:
Congrats on finally making the final four. Must be exhilarating.
This time last year you all hated him. Funny how things change.

Almost anyone can do what Kirby has done

That's why Kirby is the only coach, outside of Saban and Dabo, to win a playoff game since he took over as head coach. So no, it doesn't seem like anyone can do it.

How different do you think Georgia would be right now if they had hired Dabo Swinney instead of Kirby Smart?

Would anyone stop Dabo? Kirby is as bad of a hire as you could have possibly had because he has the illusion of being an elite coach while clearly not being in the same category as actual elite coaches.

Dabo went 7-7, 9-5, and 6-7 in his first three years and didn't win an ACC title until year 4. I bet at the time you probably thought Dabo was a bad hire as well. I know that it is a wild concept, but people get better at what they do the longer they do it.
Sony has more touchdowns in this game than every other player combined. Be honest, how mad does it make you?

I thought the entirety of the Rams and Pats rosters were UGA alums...

Did UGA fans lead me wrong in that?

How mad are you right now?

From reading Bama On Line it looks like it is 'more' than just the racial incident. What exactly the other examples are we will find out eventually.

That seems to ring a bell. Where have I heard that before?

Still trying to figure that out. I do know for sure it wasn't Alabama because they would never treat a kid poorly.
What is Kirby supposed to do? Clean out his locker and throw all his personal belongings away?

That’s incredibly telling. Master > student as a gameday coach and it’s not even close

Yeah pretty mind blowing that someone with 23 years of experience would be better than someone with 3.

if you think the recruiting grounds and culture of Sparty football or the situation CNS entered at MSU vs Smart at UGA are one for one.

You're right. Michigan State was only 29 years removed from a National Championship when Saban took over, whereas Kirby is now 38 years since the last one. So Saban was in a better situation and culture than Georgia since they had a more recent national championship.
