But, nobody gave a shite about that "classic rivalry." Not even the fricking longhorns gave a shite. The only reason they do now is because they need a better home schedule.
It is dead because nobody gave a shite about it.

I grew up watching those games and enjoyed them.
Of course, if the Aggies could have made it more competitive it would have been great. But, you're a historically mediocre program and Texas is historically a storied program.

TEXAS would rather schedule a home and home with a respectable member of the SEC, such as Gator, BAMA, Auburn, Pig, LSU, Dawgs, USC, KY, Ole Miss, Miss St. or Vandy then waste their time with Sheepfrickers

quote:Don't worry. Even if we do play them at some point in the future, it will be in September. The SEC isn't going to juggle the schedule to put A&M-Texas on Thanksgiving (would require Kansas to play Missouri that weekend, too) as it would leave the league hostage to the whims on Texas on when they decided to quit playing A&M for the 3rd time in history.quote:Cause we don’t want to go back to playing Arky or some shite the last week of the season
The big question is why LSU people keep bringing it up?
I suspect we will schedule a home and home (2 game contract) with them sometime in the next 10-15 years, but I really don't think an annual game is coming back, absent some major changes on the college football landscape such that playing 2 Power 5 opponents every year clearly becomes the thing to do.
As to the bill that was filed, the author is an attention whore who doesn't give a rip about A&M football (his brother played football at Texas). He posted pictures of himself on some hunting trip over the Thanksgiving weekend--he couldn't be bothered to make the LSU game. No one takes it seriously--not even him. Larson started disclaiming any serious intent to force a resumption of the series when it became clear that the backlash from his bill was going to be injurious to his career.

So, you agree that it's dead?

He is a longhorn sock that popped up after their win.

Well, have you seen the series record? Texas AM has been getting their teeth kicked in. They have won only 3 times this decade before they stopped playing. THREE TIMES OUCH!
Posted on 1/4/19 at 9:28 am to GatorOnAnIsland
Why is it so many SEC fans are pro a big 12 team like Texas instead of A&M, an SEC team?
Posted on 1/4/19 at 9:29 am to MsGarrison
They said no. The series is dead.

Take a look at the head to head record after 1983. You might be surprised. Since 2005 A&M has accomplished much more than tu and has replaced tu as the flagship program of the state.

Thats like me saying, Take a look at the head to head record after 1954. You might be surprised.
Texas has dominated the series, with spurts from TAMU

“THE” University of Texas is the big brother sarge. But, I was in the real military and spent 4 years in ATX. I wasn’t in the FAKE aggie military where they spend their night squeezing each other’s nuts and singing the theme to PATTON.
