basically every power 5 school has overall winning record against Clemson b/c Clemson was a Citadel type of military college the first half of its existence.

lol no it wasn't, it was a farm and manufacturing school not unlike A&M and Mississippi State. Yes, like many schools, it had a robust and notable ROTC program in the 20's and 30's but it was not the Citadel.

You know what's pathetic?
You genuinely know more about University of South Carolina and Gamecock history than you do Clemson and the tigers.
Even more pathetic is that this accurately describes 99.9% of your fanbase.

you had to be a cadet to go there until 1950s ...it wasn't just a ROTC program lol

what did I get wrong about Clemson history?

It was like that in many places, Purdue for example. That didn't make you like the Citadel, that wouldn't make any sense from a Governmental perspective, why would the state grant charters to two military colleges? You were an Ag school with a military program, a compulsory one sure, but that was not uncommon, it's been mandatory at USC at times.
A good comparison is Virginia. Citadel - VMI, USC - UVA, Clemson - Virginia Tech. Schools have roles and CU was and is the Ag school.

Clemson isn't an 'ag school'. lol it is a comprehensive university offering a variety of majors.
Clemson was a military college...texas am and virgnia tech were similar but those are the exceptions to the rule.

It's an Ag school. The Ag school model started with agriculture, and transitioned to manufacturing and engineering. Clemson, TAMU, VT, Miss St, they fit that mold of a traditional Ag school. You are a comprehensive university in name only, you wouldn't go to Georgia Tech to be a lawyer and you don't go to Clemson for that, not if you're sensible.

Clemson had engineering from the get go ..
Walter Riggs came from Auburn to be the dean of the engineering college.
You must be a sidewalk fan who didn't go to college if you think kids who want to be a lawyer and doctor don't go to Clemson. lol

Because you were established late in the Ag School cycle. Clemson was a knock off of Mississippi State.

I said it wasn't sensible, not that people didn't do it.
